answer - if curling is an Olympic sport, i dont see why poker or boccie cant be. i think that all sports demand a certain level of prowess and skill regardless of the physical demand. and that if a = a and c = c, then a sport = a sport regardless of the opinions of the many. i poke fun at OP because there are a lot of elitists that question the genuineness of a lot of sports (stock-car, snowboarding, bowling, etc etc) and i take umbrage in that. i hope this clears that up. I play pool with a mate of mine once or twice a month, we play for quite a bit of cash too, and i usually beat him. £70 up on the last outting, about $120 maybe. Not bad for a nights drinking.

no where doesn anything say a sport has to be physically draining though either people. its just where either one individual..or one team competes against another. as well as one person or a groupe against anything. like an animal. cause hunting and fishing may not be an "orginized" sport but they are considered sportsman. it doesnt say it has to pin you to the death. or physically against the other. just some type of activity, and you compete to see who can win. so like skeet shooting is a sport as well.
all of the ones he mentioned are sports. just some of you may not like them as much. it doesnt mean they arent. your taking your one sided opinion and assuming everyone else is the same. |

I dont care for the formal definition very much. Nobody will convince me that Poker or wrestling are sports.
My definition would state that there must me competition and physical accuracy or stamina. |
