My ex-husbands car is waist deep in junk - empty bottles, papers, bags, etc. and he is the messiest person I have ever met! grumble

A messy car is not a big deal.

OH OH yeah it is. laugh

I sure as hell will turn around, and walk right back into my house if a man pulls up with THAT mess. Ive done it.

I was speaking for myself. I'm not going to worry about something silly such as a car that's a bit messy.

You will when he has a silly nasty crotch. laugh

I'll put it this way....

Usually, not all the time, but most of the time, a man loves cars.
Since they were little boys, they LOVE cars. Weather they get to have the one they want or not, doesn't matter. So, if it doesn't SHOW that they love their car, it really can reflect how they will show that they love a woman... lazy, lazy.....

Would you continue dating a guy with a messy, dirty vehicle???

A friend once told me that the way a man cares for his vehicle is a reflection of his character???

For me, it has proven to be true. I've found that guys that have no respect for their car, have messy homes, and are generally messy...

(and by messy car, I mean obvious stuff, trash, dirty windows, grimy interor)

I know somebody with a dirty car. It gets dirty from his job. There's always dust and dirt on it. The back seat and trunk are full of work stuff too. He works long hours. I don't feel that it reflects on his character.
same here. but in a way it does...just means he is a very hard worker!

You're right. I should have said that it doesn't reflect negatively on his character.

It's difficult for people with physical problems to keep their car clean. It doesn't mean that they have bad hygiene.

Yes but ya know people who can bend, stoop and life have no excuse. ANYWAY.. people like my Mom, and Dad, who are old, and cant bend anymore (i help my Mom put her shoes on every day) dont even have freakin GRIME when they cant pick up, PLUS.. if ya cant clean it... WHAT CHA DOIN LEAVIN CRAP IN THERE FOR? My parents cars are fine. Sounds like quite a possibility of poor hygene to me.

OH and PLUS I have seen MANY people with yucky cars have houses that are disgusting. Black in the shower... You can HIRE a cleaning lady.. or have someone help man. Theres no reason to have a sea of garbage, and dirt anywhere.

Thanks for All the replies.....

When I made the post I was talking about dating for like 3 months...
I have a friend that has been dating this guy, and he has two vehicles, one for work, one for leisure...
Both are dirty, not necessarily outside, but the interior...I mean, it's gross. I advised her to dump him when he had a BBQ at his house and it was even worse, I mean, I literally wouldn't use the bathroom there...
And, he was always late picking her up for dates...

I know it's not necessarily true in All circumstances...
All I wanna say is that if I'm gonna look good getting in your ride, I don't wanna be afraid to touch the upholstery...

Again, thanks for ALL the input!!!

Not everybody has the money to pay for a cleaning lady.
