That really doesn't happen to me any more,, but back when I was in high school it would happen every once in a while...

The best is when they CALL YOU up and say- hey Ed.. There is a kick a** party tonight I got to go past your house anyway do you want me to swing by and pick you up on the way? at 8:00...? -Sure dude pick me up...keg stands here we come!

The next day comes... You call them.. They are all hung-over and say...I'm so sorry, I totally forgot...

No, they got 60 or so kms down the road, and noticed the spare seat, and how quiet it was....a few expletives later, they turned around and came back for me...


And all I could do was laugh!!!!!!!

I didn't have to....they were doing a fine job, all by themselves....had a whole hour to beat themselves up, and anticipate the outrage awaiting them....


...and then of course, pure anti climatic nothingness....I thought it was the funniest thing they had done for a long time, and the excitement they were having, over where our excursion was taking us, over rode remembering me...

Next time.....when you get in to ride with them....carry a vibrator in your purse and make sure it is turned on...someone will eventually notice the sound....when they ask... just pull it out and say...

"I thought I was gonna have to wait on you guys again."

I went to New Zealand with a girlfriend a few years back now....we did the girly road trip, hired a van, and had impromptu adventures...

We pulled up in this little town on the west coast of the South Island at a place called Foxx Glacier...Haas, I think the town was...and wandered into the chopper tours place to find out the cost, of getting a bird's eye view of the glacier...

Bugger me!!!!!! The chopper pilot was an aussie mate's husband from my home town working in NZ...

We got the royal tour, and had a blast.

It was the most profound experience of my life.....middle of summer, standing on snow, and on this ancient living thing called a glacier....looking out to sea, which was only a kilometre away....mindblowing!
