For some yes, for others it is a way out. I dunno, I never have done it.

It CAN be an addiction, much like stealing and gambling, and may or may not be related to a sexual addiction. It's the thrill of getting away with something.
But not all cheaters are addicted cheaters.

Good you never did it. But have you been cheated by someone again and again ?

For some - yes

For others - lack of commitment and telling the truth.

For others - a way to get back at someone.

For others - makes them feel wanted, good about themselves.

Point being.

A lot of reasons - none of them justified - but it happens.

Sex addiction seems a more likely cause than cheating addiction.

Cheating is all about insecurity imo, a weakness of the character....the need to feel needed and desired.

I believe that cheating gives the individual the sense of a challenge, a mystery, perhaps in their younger years they got away with ALOT and cheating just gives them that sense of "getting away with it". It's not a thrill unless there is some secrecy; etc.

The problem is that the human being loves that which is forbidden and loves competition. A good challenge. When things are forbidden normally we try to avoid, but there are times when we fail.

Not all of us, some.

Cheating is not an addiction because you could stop. What is an addiction is sex. Specially for those with a high sex drive that get arouse for the mildest thing.

They call their wives: "Baby, get ready for when I get home."

THey get home and the wife is sleeping they jump in the bed and look to wake her just to hear that she has a headache or is not in the mood.

Now what?

Well lets go to plan B, the naibor is in the army and Ms. Sanchez gets lonely at night.

"Baby I'm going to have a few beers with the guys. I'll be back tonight."

We meet with Ms. Sanchez take her to a nice place and after that BOOM GOES THE DINAMITE.

cheating is fair games. they cheat, you can too. or they cheat, and you move on. i think enough social distress has been brought to discourge this act and yet we still see it. it's unrealistic and unfair to say that certain flaws are worse than others. i personally think divorce is a heinous act much worse than cheating most would disagree. but considering the long term effects, you tell me which is worse.

I agree with you! It is what it is...no need to dissect it! Why would a person want to waste that much more time into a lost cause anyway! Good post, there Gypsy! drinks
