The only people that actually carry out a conversation with me for any period of time end up being from Russia?

Now don't get me wrong, Russian folks are perfectly fine. What I don't like is that they say the are from Alamba, Texas, Illinios, New York, and then later, Whammo!! You know, that's just dishonest, how am I supposed to trust what they say after that?

If I was soliciting these emails, you know sending a not to them and then getting this in response, I wouldn't complain. However, when I get into a conversation with someone in Arkansas, I'd like to find out that, no surprise here, they live in Arkansas!

Okay, done venting now.

You can't... Really simple...

Instead of being drawn into a conversation with these people find out for sure where they are at. Ask some simple questions that can't really be found on the net about the places they say they are.

For example if someone emailed me, told me they were in Ak I would be asking then a few questions in terminology only another Alaskan would know.

You know, it's really that I'm too high strung. I get excited. You know "Wow, someone wrote me!!" I try my best to answer everyone, and well the more I talk with someone, the more of myself I invest in them. So there's almost always a twinge of, well, something when the other shoe drops, and then I just feel like an idiot. You know like being the last honest person in a poker game.

To me, it's too exhausting to distrust everyone. I'd rather assume you are who you say you are. What is it Grandpa used to say, "always tell the truth because that way you never have to remember what you said." I know it's niave, but if I'm being honest, I'd like to hope the people I talk with are at least partially sincere. I'm not talking about sarcasm and jokes, lies are fine there, and it's not a bad thing to paint a better picture by omitting a few details on occasion. But big stuff? Never lie about that.

Why on earth would I worry about a scammer? What could they possibly take from me? A little of my trust? Psshaw!! I've got plenty of that.

I'm am not going to let a handful of miscreants tell me how to live my life. I refuse to let the criminal element keep me from finding decent people just because of a little fear. What the h3ll? I mean are you people that fearful? Has everyone in this world bought into the scare tactics of the government, policing agencies, security companies and such? It's not that dangerous of a world out there if you just us your head a little.
