I was inspired by a thread about a guy who was talking about his dog, so I thought maaybe, if some people had some time, or could make some time, this would be something that some could do.

I have done this and it makes a big difference.

You know, there are no kill shelters for cats, and dogs all around the country that can use our help.

People can volunteer their time to give these animals some lovin, feed them at the shelter, walk them, adopt them as our own, but they live at the shelter.

The ones we adopt, we pay for their food, bills, etc.

But you dont HAVE to pay for anything, or adopt them if you just wanna help in the other ways. You can still interact with them.

AND it makes you feel so good when ya do something nice, and worthwhile to help these little guys.. they need petting, and lovin too.

They get lonely and stuff, they could use friends.

Oh, they need help with cleanup too, so they can live in a decent environment that is sanitary, and homey.

Dude....if I love on a dog and put it back into a cage when I go home to my two rescued girls...I would cry like a baby...then break into the shelter to jack all the dogs....

Seriously!

But, it is a good thing that you are talking about.

Go figure...with humans I have been referred to as cold blooded, evil and heartless.

With dogs....I am such a soft hearted sucker...The lovey and loyalty of a dog is NEVER in question....can't say that about a single human being that I know.

I actually work right next door to a "Rescue the Animals" no kill shelter....provide them with bottled water.

We go visit our local Humane Society, here in Boulder.

We sit and visit the dogs and cats for hours, as we can't have one in our flat ...

My daughter is set to start volunteering to walk the dogs ... YEA!!!

Ours has the luck of being a NO~kill as there is such great demand here, in politically correct Boulder, phew!

We actually ship 'em in from neighbourin' towns due to the demand exceedin' the supply!

drinker ... TY for gettin' the word out ... flowerforyou

MY baby is 100% spoiled rotten almost to much. She knows she is daddy's girl and knows that no matter what she wants there is a way to get it..

I've been thinking about finding a shelter to volunteer at. I need to look into it more seriously and actually do something.

I have also read that some dog shelters need blankets, dog food, dog bowls, leashes and other things that dogs need. If you have any spare stuff just call a shelter and find out how to drop it off.

Some shelters have their own thrift stores so you can buy stuff YOU might need and benefit the animals or donate to the thrift store.

Cause the owls ain't happy to see me and give me love when I get home from work....

but, they are really tasty with garlic butter marinade and au gratin potatoes.
