"If there is no fundamental and true change in American policies toward the acknowledgment of the rights of the Palestinian people, I think this prize won't move us forward or backward." In Afghanistan, where U.S. forces are engaged in a war against Taliban insurgents, President Hamid Karzai praised the Nobel decision, but others seemed unimpressed. A spokesman for Karzai said he hopes the peace prize "will ultimately lead to peace and stability in Afghanistan and our region." But Kabul resident Abdul Rasoul disagreed. "The peace award which has been given to Barack Obama is not right because under Obama a lot of civilians have died here in the bombing," he said. What kind of people are not proud when their president wins the Nobel Peace Prize? What does that say about our country? What a shame. The kind of people that feel he does not deserve it. Yep, it is a shame, a shame that it even happened. Everything is politicized, that's all this is, he didn't earn it. Can't even keep the hatred down for one little award huh? None of which he started. I think they know that. well, if his diplomacy ENDED the war(s) I could see that as being justification of the prize... but HE is EXPANDING the war... soo....... *sigh*... |
