Perhaps the Pennsylvania Republican Party has been watching too much Glenn Beck.

An ad that links to the state party's Web site is implying that President Barack Obama is not just a socialist, but an old-style communist, with a graphic that features the Soviet hammer and sickle inside the 'O' in Obama's name.

"Tired of Barack Obama, [Pennsylvania Governor] Ed Rendell and [Pennsylvania Senator] Arlen Specter ruining our nation?" the ad asks. "Hit them where it hurts. The voting booth!"

This is the ad as it appeared on the Pennsylvania conservative Web Site GrassrootsPA:

Do I agree with the ad...no. BUT, I cant blame the party for playing up to the fears of a "few" I guess that this is one way (maybe a bit extreme) to get into the ppl that sit on the couch on voting day to get up and vote.
Both parties been doing this forever, it's not right but nothing unfortunately changes no matter how loud we scream
rant

It seems that liberal, socialist, communist are the most common supposed insults available to everyone used to inspire fear.

People don't even know the definition of the names they use.

And listeners just accept that it is true and run with it.

Now Bush did kinda bring that one on himself though. Telling the American people who hired him that he gets to do what the hell he wants and whoever doesn't like it too bad. You gotta admit that was pretty dictator like.

oh really ?...when the government...takes over two private car companies...then tells the CEO's how much many the can earn...and...what kind of car that said company MUST produce...thats Fascism...or...soft Tyranny...when the government tells you that you MUST...have healthcare or there will be heavy fines...thats Fascism...or...soft Tyranny...when the government nationalizes the banks...and decides who will and will not get loans...thats Fascism...or...soft Tyranny...when the government starts dictating what you can and cannot eat...based on THEIR desription of what is and is not " healthy "...thats Fascism...or...soft Tyranny...when the government starts watching and dictating your energy consumption...through a series of so called " smart grids "...thats Fascism...or...soft Tyranny...when the government nationalizes the student loan program...where THEY...determine what the graduating classes will look like in the future and who will be going to college...thats Fascism...or...soft Tyranny...other than that...Obama hasn't taken away any of your liberties...

First of all, there was a U.S. Bank until 1834 when Andrew Jackson busted it up, literally by diversing all of the current U.S. loans from one central bank to a bunch of small ones. So government's messing with the banks is nothing new under the sun.

What Obama, and quite frankly the rest of our government has failed to do is apply current U.S. law. Any business that is "too big to fail," must surely fall under the auspices of the Sherman Anti-Trust Act. If it can't fail, it's not part of the Capitolist model, and therefore is a monopoly. That was Teddy Roosevelt, a Republican, that passed that bill.

The problem is everyone (in government) now a days is reactionary, and no one thinks their actions through to the end result.

Winx, that is a ridiculous assertion. We've had Presidents who have failed and survived. However, there are many who believe that if Obama succeeds at his agenda, the U.S. will fail. You're obviously not one of them, but don't just throw out statements that are logical fallacies.
