Bit of a tangent... but it makes sense to me for a Christian nurse to suspect mild hallucination in the case of 'visible angels'. More than likely, these angels cannot be recorded on film, thus your experience is not based on the normal interaction of light with your retina/brain.

For a nurse to see things this way does not mean she disbelieves in angels, as she might believe in angels that work through people, or who do their work in the world without revealing themselves.

I'm not saying that the are not real!! For all I know, these angels are 'real' and they reveal themselves through mild hallucinations.

Nope, haunting a place is BAD and eternal life as a ghost is GOOD. Very different and TOTALLY distinguishable in any way besides those two words.

...hahaha. In heaven you'll experience the same emotion forever! If you haunt some place you'll experience the same emotion forever!

mild hallucination is a nice way of saying a delusion ..since both offer no proof of truth beyond the classification of a dream

A reality of dreams.

I had gone with very little sleep for a few weeks. (3 hours per night) and I was driving home from work and it was very late. I saw people walking along the road but I was not sure if they were real or if I was dreaming while awake and seeing things.

Then I saw in front of me across the road, a brick wall. I knew it was not there. I drove right through it.

After that, I realized I needed to get some sleep.

I think it is very interesting how our mind can project images that look real, in our dreams and even while we are awake if we have not had enough sleep.

It makes me think that even this reality is a projection of the mind.

What proof do we have that it is not?

Sure, it seems real, and our senses can feel it better... but what if you could take a drug that would make your mind feel and see your dreams better?

Oh yeh, they do have drugs like that.

I suspect reality is an illusion.

reality is the illusion of possible truths ..technically even dreams are a reality

also there is no doubt that the brain is wired in such a way that it can place images into the mind that perhaps may not be there ...the question becomes is this perception or illusion

There is a third possibility. We created it....or manifested it... by our thoughts. This includes what we call reality.

wouldn't the third possiblility define consciousness and illusion
