Apparently, if she is the one hiring,, the job qualification is hers to define. I agree with her but its not an absolute qualification that holds true for everyone.

Some people are still old fashioned that way and there is nothing wrong with it. I'm not. I'm old fashioned in a lot of ways but my big mouth gets in the way lol. If I see someone I'm interested in, then I have no problem starting a conversation with them and asking them out

I guess I just see that sort of role-assignment as too regimented.

And I really don't see any problems with a woman asking a man out. If she's interested, what's wrong with her saying so....?

I agree with you that is the way it should be, so when women can ask any time any one they like (men)

I don't really think it's anyone's job, if the attraction and enchantment is deep enough, then someone will.

Of course it is not universally anyones job, it is a personal preference of the individual to be the one who approaches or the one who gets approached. I choose to be approached, it is an indication to me of that persons interest and their ability to take the lead which is another important character trait I look for in a male.

Well, it's 2009...sad that people miss out on something because of "convention" or "old-fashioned" attitudes. Nothing wrong with being old fasioned, of course. It's your life...if you don't agree with a woman asking you out...you probably wouldn't get along very well anyway! laugh

The only "traditional" idealism in my life is dating and courtships. flowerforyou

I like the man to be a man and ask me out. winking Shy, spineless, or lack of esteem is not flattering. I am turned on by a man with confidence.
