Why are "bigger girls" always asking what people think of "bigger girls"?

Self esteem and double standards I imagine. Society currently promotes an idea that there is no such thing as too skinny but on the flip side , there is very prevalent negative press towards women if they dont fit in the slim or skinny category.

Or could it possibly be that some of them are just idly curious??

I know there have been many things that I have posted questions about that have had no personal bearing on what I think. I only asked because I was curious about the reactions people would have.

Not every " bigger " girl that asks a question like this has self esteem issues.

I think there is such a thing as too skinny..skinny does not always mean healthy. Look at some so called famous people, they look like crap, like they are a heart attack waiting to happen.
laugh they also look hungry!

OMG!!! I absolutely LOVE to cook and every time I see a rail thin chick...my first thought it usually " Man....she needs to EAT. " LMAO

I myself am bigger young lady. I dont have a problem with not being a size 0 I´m also far from it hahaha.
I feel like all you ever see now a days in the media is exstreamly skinny women. Dont get me wrong theres nothing wrong with being skinny!
I often hear guys saying "I love a girl with a bit of meat on her" but my question is when is "a bit of meat" to much.
(im just using this as an example and I dont mean this in a mean way)

If your a bigger girl you probably shouldnt be wearing exstreamly tight clothing and If your 80 pounds you proabably shouldnt be wearing the shortest shirt you could find where you can see every single rib.

I think every women or girl is beautiful no madder what shape or size she is but I also think its what she makes out of her featurs and how she prasents herself.

I wanna hear some thoughts on this topic and I just notist that I put this in the wrong duiscusion bord thing hahha.

When is a "bit of meat to much" when it starts to affect your health.

Personally love big woman it as never been an issue for me the weight of a woman until it affects their health then it matters but never for how they look just how they feel (healthy or not).

I am not sure how it is in the US, but here in England size zero promotion is a huge problem. It is portrayed by every shop, advertiser and magazine that is only in it for the money as being cool. and the thing to be if you want to get ahead in life. Yet there are nearly as many people suffer from health related issues as those that are classed as 'obese'. This goes for women and men alike.

I think like a few have said on here, size and doesn't matter and shouldn't unless it starts to affect your health. I am a large guy, but I still keep active and I have no health problems and I enjoy me life. Those who are not atrracted to me because of my size have their reasons and I do not have anything against them for it, that's their choice.

The term 'a bit of meat' is surely just a phrase that should not even be considered seriously when being used.

I like a bit of meat on a woman..........I have just eaten some chicken of a lady!

So, I certainly hope that this thread isn't for some underlying problem that's bugging you. You certainly seem to be a nice lass flowerforyou

Metabolism, if you have an average one your lucky. If it is excessively high or low your going to wrestle with your body fat.

My body is as efficient with food as a blown, big-block V8 engine is with gasoline. As a result, I can't skip meals with out wasting away (losing both fat and muscle).. When your fat supply disappears your body consumes your muscle tissue (eats itself alive, how horrid!)

Guys actually have it worse I think than women with the body fat (in our society with its standards). I say this because if your a woman, there is only an issue if you carry too much fat. If your a man, there is an issue if your EITHER too fat or too skinny (like Shaggy on Scooby Doo lol).

Women can be too fat. Men can either be too fat or too skinny, so they have a finer line they need to try to keep themselves on.

Here is a list of some all too familiar societal traits to expand on:

Women + fat = bad;
Women + skinny = good;
Women + big muscles = weird (usually but not always);
Women + short = cute (usually ends up being good);
Women + tall = Amazon (can be good or bad, tough call);
Women + no hair = white elephant (I can't recall ever seeing such a thing except for in concentration camps);

Men + fat = bad;
Men + skinny = bad;
Men + big muscles = Terminator, hasta la vista, baby;
Men + tall = Cool, your like Clint Eastwood;
Men + short = George Castanza; (if your fat too, look out! lol)
Men + no hair = bad;

Summary:

Women have 1 bad, 2 goods, 1 weird, 1 split (good or bad), 1 white elephant.

Men have 4 bads and 2 goods (one good could be a split like Amazon).

Conclusions:

Do men or women really have it worse? Who can tell.. Though I see a lot of bads on the Men's list lol.

How are all these people getting together? Like Jerry Seinfeld once said, Alcohol.. That might explain it lol.

For those of you who might have been insulted by my post just try to view it for its entertainment value and take it with a grain of salt.

the original post is interesting, asking opinions on quantifying specifically how much is too much.

quantify - I think it is too much when a woman has upper arms that "roll" over her elbows, thighs that "roll over" her knees, or calves that "roll over" her ankles. I think it is too much where there is no proportion, just big.

qualification - that being said, if it affects your self-image negatively, impacts your health - and makes you un-happy and un-plesant to be around - it's too much (which may have nothing to do with my particular quantification above...)

on a side note, you are quite attractive :)...

for me the question of size can be summed up in one word. "proportional". the only purpose for two sexes is the perpetuation of the species. there was a time when we all still lived in caves where food was scarce, mens and womens work was very difficult and body fat just didn't happen very often. males and females chose their mates based on their ability to conceive children. i won't get into what that means for what women look for in men since a woman started this thread. what men looked for in a woman however was wide hips suitable for carrying and berthing offspring and large breasts for feading. it so happens that because such a desirable female also had a small waste and thin atheletic legs because of the diet and physical demands, this image has carried down through the generations and remains instinctive today. so ladies if your waste is bigger around than your breasts or your hips and thighs contain the bulk of the "meat on the bones" that you incorrectly missinterpret that men want then you'll continue to ask what's important to a man as far as dress sizes are concerned. unfair? perhaps, but it is what it is.
