Ok..so I was reading about a 38yr old former beauty queen that died after complications from plastic surgery that she got done..on her rear end!..This woman was a mother of 2..and they've lost her because she needed perfection!..I've gone under the knife to have life saving surgeries more times than I care to remember and know all about the risks..and people are electively going under the knife and risking life and limb..for beauty..the world is insane!..If your "problems" can't be fixed with a trip to your local make up counter..just deal with it..and leave it the heck alone!..ok..done venting now..lmao.

Well maybe her butt was lopsided which meant she couldn't sit up straight, which gave her back problems, which made her constantly cranky, which.........oh never mind.

It's the height of vanity.

My ex gf had surgery to loose weight. I knew she was getting heavy, but didn't REALLY notice that much after 13 years. Apparantly she reached roughly 350 lbs (keep in mind she's also 6'1" and large framed). In my opinion she looked worse afterward cause she looked like a Shar Pei 6-9 months later! I saw a pic of her recently and it looks likes she gaining the weight back. HA! I'm generally not a mean person, but she really screwed me over! I'm a firm believer in karma.

Nik, you look just fine to me. Considering that, at 21, you'd have to have some underlying issues to even consider plastic surgery.

I agree with Nik, it's all a personal preference - while I may not alter my appearance for vanity purposes, but if I had the need for a better life I would.

OP I know of many women who have undergone the knife for vanity purposes and thankfully these women and men are all ok, look great and feel great about having the surgeries.

All surgeries come with risks.

But I can see your point.

I've always found it kind of funny that when someone that people don't know in the first place does something that they don't agree with...they have to intersect with their own opinion that probably isn't valued by the general majority in the first place.

Complaining is a waste of time honestly...

Heavens!

On the average, ten to twenty women in America die in a car accident or a drug overdose as they are on their way to the local make-up counter. Many leave childen and a lot of rear end behind.

If someone can't get beautiful by simply screaming at her kids, or by talking to their own mother on the phone for two hours, then... learn to live with ugliness, and leave it the heck alone!...

I blame the mass media and advertising for the distorted and unhealthy image of the female body that is propagated. This is exactly why women aren't happy with their own bodies. Because airbrushed and digitally thinned models give them ideas of what they should like, when in reality, no woman could ever look like those models do. Ever.

Society is ruthless, some professions put the pressure on to be PERFECT if one wishes to work or compete in the industry...its sad that this is the standard instead of talent, how do we change as a society to place more value on inner beauty, intelligence, and character rather than asthetics?

Unfortunately appearances are more important than brains these days .
Education and deep philosophical thoughts are the only answers .

It is like anything else in life many strive to be perfect in every way they can. There are many that die due to starvation for they want to be thin ect.

Honestly if I had the money there are a few surgery's I would in fact have done myself. Not due to what others think but due to what I would like for myself.

Obviously, it is tragic that this woman died - the 38 year old former Miss Argentina died from complications from a gluteoplasty. Apparently the operation was not done by an accredited plastic surgeon...but that investigation is ongoing. There are risks to any surgery. And there are hundreds of thousands of successful cosmetic surgeries every year. Generally, people are made aware of the risks. Not safe to assume that people who get these surgeries are neurotic...or don't have their acts together. Often these surgeries make people feel better about themselves. So, yes, it's tragic that she died....but to paint everyone with the same brush that plastic surgery isn't right...well, maybe that's a bit much. Tolerance is a good thing. How many of us would like to be judged on every decision we ever made?
