my sister and brother nlaw we were sitting watching tv with my oldest nephew he was just a yr old and we got blown away from the news report that he had died.. i have a cousin that does sound stage for the singers and she did a sound set up for julian lennon.. |

Actually, it was 29 years ago ... I remember since it was the first year of my parents divorce. I caught the news of his death over the radio. Honestly, the other reason I remember was that music was changing pretty substantially that year ... I say it because really it had a more profound influence on me today than back then.

I stand corrected...29, 30 years. At my age it's hard to keep track.  Yep, I was 19.. so 29 years. Still so sad to remember after all these years. Tending bar at the Town And Country Lounge in Missoula Montana and Howard Cosell comes on during a football game on the big screen...well they were pretty big screens for 1980. |
