If you go back and read transcripts of speeches Obama made around the country while campaigning there are alot more broken promises.

It's good to see that increasingly more and more Americans are no longer "Still in Denial" of Obama's "empty campaign promises"

Gosh I didnt hear a timeline in that speech and he still has three years,, so how are we defining a lie?.....accomplishments not attempted(cause that can be refuted) or accomplishments not yet achieved?,,,apparently the latter,,, so all those people who started out the year promising to loose that last ten pounds beware of the liar label until you accomplish your goal....

I don't recall any caveats like..."this will only be the most open and transparent government in history when the issue is popular and I don't have to worry about collateral damage".

Or how about this one... " I will not have any lobbyists in my cabinet, unless they are friends of mine or helped get me elected".

I find it equally funny that, no matter what, you folks manage to soft shoe everything he screws up.

I mean, technically the guy he hired in the last example wasn't a lobbyist anymore....so that makes it perfectly ok for him to sidestep that particular campaign " promise " within two days of taking office.

What you have to ask yourself is, would McCain have done any better? Somewhere out there is a parallel universe where Johhny won the G.E. and he is the president. You'll have to ask him how that's going.

As usual, the Presidential election wasn't won or lost based on the issues facing this country. It was won by the person the media picked for everyone.

The media loved the idea of " hope and change and change and hope " < which is all we actually heard from Obama. All tal;k and no substance as far as the real issues > and used a bunch of celebrities to tout Obama so that all the sheeple would think that voting for him would be a GREAT idea.

I mean, hell...OPRAH said we should vote for him. That's all we NEED, right?

Not only that. He is no exception to the rule. All politicians espouse dreams as "promises". At least if you give this one a chance, you will see that he is sincere. Can you really expect them to be able to do all the things they say? They aren't comic book super heroes. They still have to swim in a sea of sharks and naysayers. Ah hem.

instead of a professional politician

we have developed a ruling class of professional politicians who feel entitled to the people's resources

we should be electing business men, farmers, merchants to do their time in Washington and go home
