Um, guess you didn't see the other youtube post that shows it's a farce. BUT, one reason pork needs to be handled and cooked properly is because, moreso than chicken even, there is more natural bacteria and other organisms are more easily attracted to the meat, which could cause illness.

When the mad cow disease scare was at its worst, before they banned beef from certain places, I was in a truck stop in Tennessee where I was told that I couldn't have my steak med-rare (so I opted to not have steak cooked to a shoe-leather consistancy), but the waitress asked me how I would like my pork chop. I told her that there is more to worry about from under-cooked pork than there is from med-rare steak. frustrated

when I was in college, I worked in several restaurants.

pork can be deadly if not handled properly

avoid cross contamination from uncooked pork to cooked. meaning knives cutting boards and all that

and make sure it is a minimum 160 degrees throughout. that is the minimum temp for killing the bacteria inside

and always let it cool to room temp before refigerating. refrigerating hot meat is a guarantee for bacteria

Aren't worms protein too? Just ugly, gross, culturally unappetizing protein?

Anyway, you should vote for people that SUPPORT regulation of the food industry, not those who think the producers will magically forget the profit motive, and watch out for us out of a sense of religious duty, AND you should properly choose, store, prepare, and consume your food. Nuf said.
