Topic: Caffeine/Sugar?

In my psych class the discussion is on addictions, and one thread is discussing caffiene addictions.

Used to be a heavy Mountain Dew drinker but have cut it back to one or so every day or two.

Does Root Beer have caffeine in it or is it just a real high sugar content? I enjoy it, but rarely drink it as I tend to have black-outs and time loss. Not good. More frequently if I have it in the morning.

It depends on the brand. Barq's rootbeer DOES have caffeine (but Diet Barq's does not). A&W, IBC and Mug root beers do not. Caffeine will be listed in the ingredients on the can/bottle, so just read the label on a few and see which ones do and do not and then choose your favorite.

Okay, so it doesn't appear to be the caffeine as the problem.

Would sugar cause black outs?

or the saccharine content level?
*unsure of spelling*

check the ingredients of your root beer against your mountain dew?

Don't know if they still put it out but, try Jolt.

Ever been tested for diabetes?
You can pass out from both high blood sugar and
low blood sugar.
Since mornings bother you, it could be the latter.

Doc's at Mayo, told an old friend of mine.
If you won't quit drinking booze, learn to drink it straight.
The pop is harder on people than the booze.
I quit drinking much pop, back in the mid 60's.

Also, diet pop is just 2 chemicals short of antifreeze.

WHY do we drink this junk???????

Sounds like an allergy. I'd avoid it if I were you.

Blackouts from rootbeer? Oh baby! You sound like my kind of date! I could save a lot of $ on bar tabs and rohypnol.

Then again, you would be posting about how root beer makes you black out and your vajayjay REALLY sore.

I know. And I have cut a huge amount out totally. Winter is worse for me, as iced tea just doesn't have the same mental feel, and I usually keep that stocked in the fridge. Hot tea is great except it makes me sleepy. The only time I like water is when I've been outside working hard.

I never could get the taste for any of the energy drinks. There was too much of a sour taste left over.

Soda/pop is one of the worst things in the world to consume. It's a good alternative for cleaning toilets though.

Equus, if you started getting headaches and just feeling crappy in general after you stopped consuming it for a few days, you are probably going through withdrawals.

I don't think anyone in the world drinks more coffee than I do, about 5-6 pots a day, whether it's 100 degrees out or 10, it's all I really drink, and yes I can lie down and go right to sleep iffn I want, but don't want to, afraid I'll miss something...lmao
