I remember (years ago) to tell other that they met someone online was almost shameful (although never bothered me laugh )

Do you think today, it is more acceptable to society to meet someone from an online dating site????

It's totally acceptable. Alot of my friends met people from dating sites. I'm seeing somebody tonight from one. It's kind of hard to meet somebody like yourself or is interesting without using a dating site these days.

Yeah, things have changed over the years haven't they. While I tend to keep my private affairs private, I've learned not to hide things either... less embarassed of things I do, choices I make, or just how I choose to live my life... so I don't have any problems with saying where I meet my friends/partners. 'course it could be that I'm just getting old and crusty!!

Depends on who you talk to, some people still think it's "dangerous and creepy" and some people think it's a sign of the times.....

one day we'll be telling our grandkids, great grandkids, those stories of how we had to actually leave the house to meet people  but, yes, more acceptable today.

my ex and i met through questpersoanls phone line...we still have not told too many ppl because it was so long ago...now a days seems like second nature, and that it's almost more "shameful' to tell ppl you met your guy in a bar, rather then online.

Disclaimer

please note I use the word "shameful" for a luck of better word...
