depends on the reason IMO. If they have a ton to shoot people in schools or something like that, then yes. If it is only to protect themselves, then no

Unless you are running a museum yes.

You can only carry so many into combat.

Personally all I own right now is a 12GA for hunting and a Ruger 10/22 for varminting. In the future I want to get a 30.06 for game hunting, a 357 Ruger Blackhawk for personal defense, and a Freedom Arms .50 Cal Semi Auto for hunting 18 wheelers, the biggest game animal in the USA. In reality I could get away with all of these because if I needed others in a bad situation I would just take out the other guy and now I have his gun. There are a couple of other guns I would like to have but these are what I would call the dirt basics. In some cases the 44 Mag is for men with small penises. A 357 does the same job! Now look at the.577T Rex! Only an idiot would take that gun big game shooting. A gun does you no good when you can't even hold the thing down when you fire it. Look the gun up on Youtube. This one Arab shoots it and gets clocked hard by it and then knocked on his *** by it the second time. It falls out of the hands of another shooter after giving him a black eye. Another guy get knocked back int the doorway of the shooting booth and falls on the ground. If you miss your one shot on a Cape Buffalo you are DEAD MEAT! There are times you need extra horse power to do a specific job but for the field you got to have a gun that fits the job. The only reason I want a gun like an AR10 in 308 with the burst of three and fully rock and roll is because I hate the idea criminals are running around with fully autos like AK47s and they could care less about the law or incidental casualties when they start shooting. I want the weapon with superior hitting power and range. Then again a 30.06 hunting rifle can still do the job just ducky. You just have to act like a sniper and keep more distance than their weapons can fire and obey the one shot one kill rule!

Now if you are into gun smithing and reloading then that is the only exception I can see because like an artist, mechanic, or anyone else
you need the tools of your craft and you can't get that working on the same weapon over and over. The triggers mech of a Ruger is not like the S & W or Winchester. Now I know gun connoisseurs that have five shotguns just for trap shooting. They have nine rifles for target shooting, and an *** load of pistols but they have different purposes for professional events.

I can't really say though what I feel is right. That is just my personal belief. I just do not want any more damage done to our right to bear arms. That and bare legs!

All good choices. My faves are my .30-06 M-1 and John Moses Browning's .45ACP as made by Col.Colt. Both do the only thing that's important - they go 'BANG!' when I pull the trigger. Anything else is superfluous - and unnecessary also too. The T-Rex is ... well ... it's just stupid ... and so is the .44 mag.

Actually the 44mag does have a saving grace. The chance you can take out a Kodiak bear with a 357 are SLIM but not negligible. A 44 mag actually has just enough horsepower if you pull the shots in the optimum zone to stand a very good chance of stopping a charging Kodiak. There are places that would be my belt arm of choice. My sling arm would be either a 12ga sporting sabot slugs that are hardened alloy like ones high in zinc and tin or antimony for armor piercing penetration like the classic BRI sabot slugs which could kill people hiding behind cars. Otherwise I would want to carry something in the vein of a 300 H&H. Even the highly touted 7mm Rem Mag may only piss off a Kodiak bear. The 300 H&H kicks like a horse but has the punch to make a Kodiak Stop. You do not want to hunt dragons with a pop gun! Or BIG bears either.

Now dedicated man stoppers? The .45ACP was purpose built for that.

Hell, you want big?

Imagine being the guy pulling the trigger on one of these guns...

KABOOM!
That is the biggest thing to swing on the block right now!

Thems' is BIG Guns!

I would have to say yes.. especially when children are around. Its kind of like owning cars,, you can only use one at a time.

And when there are children around, the best way to deal with it is to TEACH them about guns. Let 'em fire 'em and remove the mystery and the attraction. People who treat guns as 'bad things' or 'things you shouldn't know about' are just setting their kids up to want to find out more. I taught my daughter to shoot when she was 10. No problems ... Education and honesty are the keys.

I respect the choice , its just not for me. I could no more feel comfortable teaching my kid to shoot a gun to avoid his temptation, than I would taking him to a whorehouse to learn about stds, or showing him how to smoke a cigarette or drink alcohol. I know there are kids who know how to shoot guns and thats fine if it works in their life but I just couldnt do it..

Personally I felt that HS should have a shooter safety class and that would be one of those classes if you got some jerk off pointing the gun at others thinking it is funny that kid needs to get slapped SO hard their teeth fall out. There is nothing funny about pointing a tool made to kill at someone unless you got a damn good reason to.

Check out the movie Fido sometimes. It is warped. it has guns for a damn good reason.

In the head and not the chest, head shots are the very best!

The first thing Dad taught us when teaching us to shoot is that you NEVER point a gun at anything (he din't say 'anyone' 'cuz we were just kids) you don't intend to kill. Who remembers the jerkoffs on the range in Basic who had no clue where their muzzle was pointed? The DI and Range Safety Officer wanted to slap 'em into next week ... If there's no time for a proper head shot, then two BDCM and one to the head works ... pay the extra 50 cents ...

I stand corrected..lol... But seriously, other than in the movies, what chance has two hands and two guns if a MILITIA of fifty plus hands and guns are on ones behind?
