I didn't read all these posts... but if I saw someone I was interested in getting to know I'd send them an email. I wouldn't nudge, as I tend to ignore nudges from complete strangers. I wouldn't add them as a friend until I've chatted with them a bit. And I definitely wouldn't add them as a favorite. Emails are the best way to go.

Just wondering how everyone makes the first move when they see someone on here that they are interested in. do you nudge, add to favorites, add as friend, sent a letter, or something else? would love to know   I would say all the above if your really interested in the person. simple as this.. after being on here for 4 1/2 yrs.. i don't bother looking lol! 2 outta 3 that wanted to meet.. set a date or time and did not call.. or follolw through..<hid when the time neared>. so i dont get too excited about meeting anyone on here.

I made the mistake of contacting a local guy, he looked at my profile and never answered. I guess he thought I was after him when all I did was ask him where he lived before....

I think nudges from strangers are creepy, I think being added to a favorites' list by someone I've never talked to is weird, I reject friend requests from people I don't know, and unless I know the person from the forums, or they have a non-personal question, I don't answer emails. So you had a good idea- posting in the forums to get yourself known. I wish you luck.  thanks for the advice...im just getting myself out there...plus its fun talking to you guys...especially the crazy ones (you know who you are...lol) |
