WEST ALLIS - A bar owner could be in serious trouble with the federal government. A bartender was videotaped burning a statue of President Obama.

So far, the bar owner hasn't explained why the bartender torched the statue of the President a cheering crowd.

People in West Allis were shouting and laughing as the bartender torched the statue for the crowd. Flames tore through the statue with what looks like duct tape wrapped around it's neck.

West Allis Police say they found out about the incident after it was reported at Yester Years Pub and Grill on Greenfield Avenue.

West Allis police say the Secret Service is also investigating. The Secret Service investigates any possible threats against the president.

TODAY'S TMJ4 obtained video from someone who watched the fire and said they feel upset.

The President of Milwaukee's NAACP is outraged and worries it could be racially motivated. "Very offensive. And it sends a terrible message to other people," said Jerry Ann Hamilton.

Yester Years Pub and Grill is owned by Karen Schoenfeld. We wanted to ask her what the bartender meant with the fire. But a message left at the bar wasn't returned. And no one answered the door at her New Berlin home
.
"I regret that it happened, that it happened in our state. I think that's the worst image that a person can send out," said Hamilton.

Wednesday afternoon the Secret Service told me they can't comment on this case, saying they don't comment on any so-called intelligence cases.

NAACP leaders maintain they're going to push for a full investigation.

I in no way condone what happened. But why does the NAACP feel they need to get involved?

I don't see how being politically incorrect on one's own property can be considered a "crime" (except by busybody nanny statists, of course).

I'm not your research department ... I've presented links and requested evidence that's been ignored by you too many times in the past to consider the request for more a valid one ... the magic word is 'google'.

I heard the big crowd that was cheering were all disgruntled Dems.

You suppose Hussein won't be able to count on them for votes?

ok,, so SIX pages of google so far and NO story about "Bush statue burned' here in America,,,,,,,just saying

I am open to proof of things,,when people make claims against others I kind of expect them to provide it

but , in lieu of such accomodation, I can and do research for myself,,,,on this end,, so far nothing

but thats besides the point,, I dont think there was much news (that I can find so far) about such an action regarding Bush in America,,while he was President

as far as this incident,, what the video shows hardly seems like a statue and more like a souvenir item,,,so who cares

if the bartender wants to be ignorant,,well, he probably has some drunks to egg him on,,,thats what happens at bars,,,the potential for alot of volume and alot of disruly behavior

I think the most he could get is a fine for burning trash without a permit.

So what?

Are you afraid of the Naacp or something?

Let them do what they do, it is no concern unless you are guilty of something racist.

I want the Naacp and all other groups to investigate all happenings that could be racist so that we know if there is something to be concerned about.

You can bet someone investigated all instances of Bush effigies being burned or whatever, we just didn't hear about it. Don't fool yourself into believing otherwise.
