I wonder what will happen to our religion if we discover that Aliens..
people from another planet do exist.

Some would say oh that's silly it is made up but why would a God if he
exist create all these other planets, and galaxies, and places we can't
even being to see yet... and only put people on 1 that seems to be the
illogical point to me... but anyways i think it'll be interesting that
if we can find proof of other life forms on other planets what that will
do to the religion here on this earth...

the human race was only a test,i think hes tryin new,if not where doomed

layers of consciousness unfolding ... different levels ... different
places maybe

There are people, I am not one, that read in to the Bible that there
are other plans and other planets under His creation and under His
care.

I don't know.


but if we do find them the Christens will try to convert them, the
Muslims will try to fight them and the Jews will ignore them……

This also leads to the problem that Jesus wouldn't have been his only
begotten son. Either that or Jesus has a lot of work cut out for him
yet if he has to be born again on each and every planet.

This is funny but so true. Christians are so blind, all they can see is
Jesus. They won't make the connection concerning the problem associated
with this.

Like Sororitygurl points out, why bother creating such a vast universe
filled with an incompressible number of stars and planets just to raise
pet humans on one planet to become your spiritual servants when they
die? Seems like a little bit of an overkill on the expense of the cage.

It will never cease to amaze me how people can't evolve beyond the dark
ages. The idea of a God who raises pet humans to be used as eternal
servants in heaven is just as silly as anything in Greek Mythology IMHO.

I’ll probably get banned for saying that Christians are so blind all
they can see is Jesus. But that wasn’t meant as a put-down. I simply
meant it in regard to the way they are always saying that Jesus is the
ONLY way. For this is what they always profess. So this necessarily
means that they do not acknowledged any other way (i.e. they are
adamantly blind to all other ways). This may not apply to all
Christians either, but many do seem to hold this view.

But then, why call them aliens?

Why not call them aliens? We call humans who cross our imaginary
borders aliens! They are certainly our brothers and sisters!

Aliens from another planet might be extremely differnet from us. Not
only in physical form, but in the way their brains are constructed and
how they think, feel, and reason. It’s quite feasible that any
living creature on earth could have evolved to a sentient state. Could
you imagine meeting a race of ants that are say 6 foot tall on average?
Of course, they’d be sentient ants and possibly be able to communicate
with us, but just the same, they’d still be ants that are quite
different from humans.

It’s impossible to say what they might be like. There are over 70
sextillion starts in the observable universe alone. The number of
differnet species that might have evolved to a sentient state is
probably staggering. I imagine there are all kinds of creatures out
there, some friendly and some not so friendly. After all, look at how
unfriendly humans can be toward each other and they are the same
species!

In fact, I just finished taking a course on Biological Anthropology and
discovered that there is no such thing as ‘race’ from a biological
point of view. Race is biologically invalid. All humans are of a
single species, and what we call ‘race’ is actually extremely minor
variations that aren’t even biologically significant. Yet we have
trouble getting along with ourselves. I image most people would be
totally blown away by an actual alien from another planet. All
primates on the earth would be much more closely related to us
biologically speaking.

But they still come from the same source surely?

If they evolved out of the universe like we did, then they came from the
same source. They'd be made out of similar atoms.

In fact, I'm pretty convinced that the carbon atom is predisposed to
evolved into DNA. And so even their DNA may be quite similar in many
respects. However, keep in mind that every living being on planet earth
has similar DNA and yet look at how drastically differnet kinds of life
forms exist on the earth. Don't forget to count all the different kinds
of insects, plankton and basically all forms of life on earth, including
plant life.

Moreover, I could be wrong about the carbon atom having only DNA as an
option to ‘create’ life. Although, it seems to me that if there
were more options those too probably would have evolved on earth as
well. Some scientists have suggested that silicon could be the basis
for life. But there are no known examples of this, and mainstream
scientists have basically rejected that idea as being quite problematic.

So almost any life-form in the universe will most likely be
carbon-based, and have a similar DNA and protein synthesis. Moreover,
the ‘soup’ of the universe appears to be homogenous throughout the
entire observable universe. We can tell this by the spectra of the
stars. All the stars in the universe contain very similar ratios of the
elements. So life on other planets will most likely be similar to life
on earth in many ways.

But keep in mind that reptiles were among the first to dominate the
earth. Why they never evolved into sentient beings is not known. They
existed for close to 300 million years, yet they never “woke up”. I
guess they were good dinosaurs and never ate the fruit from the tree of
the knowledge of good and evil. ;o)

there was just a recent sighting in lima peru, mexico ...it was all over
the news here...no one ever did come up with an explanation and the
squashing of such sightings is beginning to create a protest against the
moratorium on disclosure established by the US.

This is just my opinion but I wholeheartedly believe that we are NOT the
only ones that God created...If we were, then why would He have bothered
to create space so big and enormous with so many planets, stars, and
galaxies if only to put us here and no one else? Again, this is just my
opinion.

It could be just that the aliens are shy and feel alienated. The truth

My son had an experience at about age 11. There were two kids on the
block who were home schooled and didn't have any friends. My son, chose
to make them his friends. Turns out they discussed Christianity often,
as my son was interested and that was the reason they were being home
schooled. The parents did not want them exposed to teachings or
students that did not coincide with their beliefs. One day the topic
of aliens from another planet came up. The two children denied such a
claim. It simply could not be. They explained (a 9 and 11 year old)
explained to my son why it was not possible, according to their
religion. This was what ultimately ended their relationship. The
parents found out what was being discussed and would not allow the kids
to play with my son any more.

ok. for what its worth heres my "theory" (btw just for reference i am a
messianic jew) ok. in my opinion God is creator it is his nature. i
believe this because it was his first act of self that he deemed worthy
of being recorded in torah. so if God is a creator why would he only
create once in the billions and billions of years of existence of space.
(think of it as a painter who only paints one picture in his whole life)
it wouldnt be in his nature would it. however. the torah only gives us
one example of the part of Gods creation that fell to sin. us on earth
the reason for that is the scripture says that when the angel of light
and music was banished from heaven he was banished to earth and it
became his domain. which would leave one to believe that lucifer has
influence on this planet only. therefore we are the only corrupted ones
in Gods creation therefore it would make sense that God would create a
barrier keeping us from interacting with the rest of his creation for
fear of corrupting them also, for the messiah would only come once for
such a purpose as sin sacrifice. so i believe we are not alone, however
because they are perfect and without sin we will never see them until
the establishment of the new jerusalem.

only ones it seems like a big waste of space.

That does seem odd. Contradictions do exist. I could support their claim
with scriptures and I could support your claim with scriptures. Instead
though I could share an experience I had in Philosophy class. There was
this time I didn't take home the book to study. So instead of giving a
textbook or an answer that the professor had written on the blackboard
that I had copied off in class I thought my way through the question. I
got extra points even and this delightful discussion back from the
professor. It was like oh my god you can think. I am making progress
trying to teach you something. Of course that can work in philosophy but
in other classes one has to actually have the right answer to pass the
tests.

I bet aliens think we are aliens, too.
