Hi there, hey? Saw your profile thought I'd say hi? How you doing? Hi, I'm Adam?

It's always funny reading how people introduce themselves to others and how they go about it... not that I'm a professional, but I believe common sense has to fit in there somewhere right?......errr left?

Always introduce yourself. Never start with hi or hey there or something bland like that. I dont have any lines really but i like to comment on what i read about them provided there are some things in common. Be Easy bro

Well if I ever find a profile that I wanted to write to, I would start with a Howdy. And from there state something in the profile that caught my interest. Most times I write an email a person's post that I have read that doesn't need to be broadcast to the whole site.

Why never start with a hi or hey there? Do you not say hi when meeting a person in real life for the first time?

Most of the time when I read a profile that I really like and what to write them.I chicken out,I tell myself that he won't write back because I'm not his type and I see a few ladies that I would like to be friends with, Lots of people on here have jobs, have done all kinds of things, have a mate, the ladies are so pretty and some of the guys are wow. I'm just me,plain and simple me. Am I feeling sorry for myself,no I don't think so,just honest.

Great points there "justme" This is my first time, have been pushed into it by a friend who found her Mr Wonderful, and now is encouraging me to find my Miss/Ms Wonderful. I suppose its time to take that leap of faith and give it a go... after all it starts with a simple hello...

Oh I am just blunt. I don't want to play games, so I just come right out and ask the all important question....."Hey Babe! Do you like butt sex?" laugh

Agreed! drinker

"Hey" or "Hey there" is impolite and too impersonal. whoa I delete those emails. It's easy to address someone more formally especially if they are a stranger - even with my friends I cringe at "hey there". It's so lazy.

Since I have first hand experience in how you approach someone, I can say YOU have a purrrfect way in which you send a first contact. As I said before, you had me at 'hello'! laugh flowerforyou

To the OP: read the profile and see if the person uses their name. Address them using their name or at the very least their username. As David said, find something in their profile to relate as a commonality or as a subject you would like to know more about to inspire conversation.

Enjoy Mingle!

Meh...the woman in the picture with me appreciated the fact that I complimented her eyes ( which are GORGEOUS love ) and then added some humor when I told her that I promise that I'm not a stalker type.

Different things work well for different women.

Some will respond to a simple " Hello. I saw something in your profile...." and some won't.

You just have to be who you are. Nothing more. Nothing less.

The number one rule on contacting someone here is that there ARE NO RULES.

Well....ONE rule...don't be a perv in the first email.

Ah, I think I see where I'm failing now. So, when should you be a perv? Second mail? Third mail?
