yup, great idea. Now just turn off your electricity and park your car, quit using any plastics, none of most types of glue, and purchase all fresh foods because they cannot strelize them. If you are anything but a farmer, get ready to starve because they won't be able to transport groceries. BP produces 40% of the oil in the US. slaphead Yup, brilliant idea. Why don't you go first and show us how it turns out in about 6 months?

NYC has approximately 24 hours worth of food on the shelves. What ahppens if there is no transportation for a couple weeks?

even then it's iffy, cause most are still worried about the f *CK ing $$$$$$$ and not Mother Earth.

better run all the oil companies out of th US. blow outs are not uncommon. I live in oil/gas country. Tell ya what, brilliant idea. let every area survive on the oil/gas they get from under thier own dirt, and are willing to accommadate the risks involved. I feel bad for you guys down on the gulf, I really do, but, with every advance in civilization, there are inherent risks. You just happen to be experiencing the bad side of one of the risks that our civilization standard is based on. If you consider the alternative to no petroleum products, or a vastly diminished quantity, I think that you would agree that some price must be payed occasionally to maintain our standard of living.

yup...revenge...let's break them..makes a lot of sense. Instead of ranting, we all need to get our butts down to the beach and pick up tar balls and pick up oil in buckets. Words are cheap, the taking of action is what is hard to do. Maybe the gov't out to fix it like they do every thing else...lol

It's a beotch when ya trying eery thing you know or can dream of and still know your butt is kicked. I do sympathize with the frustration, just don't turn the frustration into anger. Try to turn it into something constructivelike, I don't know what, but something

Where is this rig 'Atlantis' located?
I haven't read anything about it on the real news, got an email claiming that it was gonna blow in the gulf and collapse the gulf floor, causing a tidal wave that would wipe out florida and half the central US. Snoped it and nothing turned up. Typical email story.....lol

I don't know much about this subject....so I'm asking. Isn't OSHA in charge of inspecting this rigs? I read somewhere that the one that blew was supposed to have monthly inspections.

Nature will have its revenge like it or not. Watch the number of cancer patients and various illnesses jump, because the idiots thinking it's only "some fish" and "birds". Sometimes I wish to waterboard some people but not with water, but oil. Pour that **** right into his mouth and let him choke on it.

Humanity and civilization is overrrated, It's feel like we are back in the 15th century. ohwell

This is such BS!!!! I feel for the people in Louisiana. We have over 3000 people and over 500 boats ready to tackle this mess when it approaches our shore. We have tar balls as far south as Sarasota something that's not been shown on any news station. That shows its in the Gulf stream capable of fouling Florida's Gulf Coast beaches, Key West and right up the Eastern coast of the United States.

People here have spent money out of their own pockets to send people to Alabama and Louisiana. We have homemade skimmers made, Miles of booms ready and are ready and willing to fight this thing.

WHERES OUR GOVENER!!!!!! Nothing coming out of his office and no response to any attempt to contact him. WTF!!!! Quit cam paining and DO THE JOB WE ELECTED YOU TO DO!!! People here are already hurting because of THE GREED OF DEVELOPERS who made a ton of money at the peek of the housing market, over built, over appraised, and should be investigated for criminal actions. My homes tax assessment dropped $60 last year. COME ON CRIST WAKE THE F@@@@@@K UP....

Don't shut them down, take them over. Jail all the a$$holes who had anything to do with this then have the people or the government own it. Would be a good and justified way to start making some more money for the continent. At the very least, fine them a few a couple trillion dollars! Then have the govt inspect and oversee all of their drilling sites. Canadians are pissed too! We don't want this oil washing up on our shores either! What blows my mind is that the American govt has been doing nothing but talk for almost 60 days. Whats the hold up? Why hasn't a full scale emergency clean up program started? 60 000 barrels a day going in to our oceans and the American govt is doing NOTHING!

There are over 4,000 wells drilling in the ocean as we speak. You don't close them all over one oil spill. They have a excellent safety record.Like most accidents in the world you make improvements to make them safer.

They have been trying alternative energy sources since the 1970's.They are never cost effective for the business or the consumer.Oil is cheap and we have enough in reserves to power the entire world for at least 100 years. The key is to make oil more efficient, easier to drill, and to build more refineries.Oil has served the world very good over the years.

You can pay out your back side for electric cars and expensive alternative fuels.I will stick to oil as long as it is the cheapest fuel out there.

I'm not laughing, this planet is a living organism also. Many don't realize it or care. It's already going on. They're more concerned on whose right than what's right.
