Why do people tend to be shy when it comes to talking on a date? Where is the personality?

It's called Anxiety meeting someone for the first time and they shut down and become shy in fear they will be judged....In my case I was always shy

It is true. First dates can put you under pressure. If you want your date to feel comfortable and not shy, maybe make outing less "date like".

I for one can say it is not a choice.I am shy at first.It probably is because of the pressure,like Mayhem said.For me, it is mostly being centered out.It makes me feel awkward.I get the same way when being photographed.lol.Believe me when I say it's more painful for me than you lol.It would be a dream to change it and feel at ease.Give the person some time, they will warm up and you can see the great personality shine through.

I have never ever been known to be shy on a first date, or any other date. I feel good in my skin and operate accordingly

OMG.....I totally either have people rolling or they freak out, stab themselves in the eye with a fork, and then the EMT's come...date over. But that only happened one time....I swear!

You know .. you can "QUOTE" (ie put other people's wording in a separate box which helps us all see what THEY wrote and what YOU answer .. ) by clicking the word in the right hand corner that says "QUOTE" .. and typing below it .. Just sayin
