hi, i know i am purty knew at this, but i cant get the instant messenger to work for me.... is there a secret to it?? or am i doin something wrong?

If I remember correctly, the other person has to have that feature turned on in order for it to be able to work with them.

I could be wrong, though....!!

No Lex, you are correct. I don't have mine turned on so I never see if someone is trying to IM me.

the IM button shouldn't show up on the other person's profile if they have it turned off.

It also won't show up if the person is in Stealth mode, even if they have the IM option turned on. We will check the IM feature, though, since there are a couple reports on it.

i have had ppl email on here to ask me why i didnt reply to there instant message.. and i didnt even know i was getting messaged

After a good amount of testing, we have found that the site's IM is working. It might be sluggish showing up at the moment, but it is working. If you are waiting a handful of seconds and still not getting the IM invitation, sweet_pea0623, be sure to check your broswer's security settings.

My instant message option is turned on, but have only been able to connect with 1 person in the last 3 days. Not 1 IM attempt has come through to me! My settings are set correct. In speaking to over 30 people through text messages that I have tried to connect with, they have the feature turned on, and never saw my request pop up? Also many said they tried to chat with me, and I never had anything pop up? What is going on?

I just tried to send an IM. If you didn't get the pop up, then the admins will need to look into it.

Hello, xgator. We have tested the IM on a number of accounts, and it seems to be working normally. Once you log off, we will test your account specifically. At this time, though, we're fairly sure that the problem is on the user side.

We tested it on your account, and the IM program is working. I wish I knew what to suggest, but make sure that you are not contacting others who have their email filters set to exclude you. Otherwise, they will not even see the invitation, even though it appears (to you) that your invitation was successful.

please help me my IM has never worked and I have been using mingle a long time.
I have checked my browsers and convinced its something else.
I also created another account and its the same issue.

many thanks if you could look at this.
I have sent several messages for help and no one has ever responded over the last year or so.
