I don't know, just kind of missing San Diego.

I've been moving places. I'm stoked (yes a Cali colloquialism) for all of the mini-cultures I've experienced!

Still, have to admit that I am envious of those who have had the same best friends since grade school!

What's cool about your moves and "new" places?
What's cool about your hometown?
What do you like? What do you miss?

Vague? Sorry!

Well I grew up in NYC

I miss all the people of various cultures and beautiful colors and interesting religions
sitting on the "stoop" on hot summer nights
the taxicab drivers
the festivals
broadway

now I live in a countrysetting

I love the quietness
the wildlife
the wonderful loving freinds I have made
my caring neighbors who always look out for us girls( never mind they are all single guys. Lol)
the real sense of neighborhood

as for best freinds....

Well....

The man who has been my best freind forever is now my partner

Should I say a prayer of thanks or what???

I don't have a hometown...left PA. when I was a kid and been going east to west and back and forth for 30 years. Restless, edgy and could never sit still. Still not done, leaving here..someday.

Montana was high school and many years there and left and back...that's where my 'oldest' and 'dearest' friends are. If I have any 'roots' at all they would be there...

Everything has been cool about my moves..except here so long....lived on the water back east, is all I miss there, still stay in touch with friends.

New people, different experiences.
Err, it had some pretty cool skate parks.
Skateboarding and writing, I miss the skateboarding.

You're too damn vague.

I lived here forever. The last time I left the state was eight years ago. I've only seen snow twice in my entire life. My hometown used to be cool, but now that I've done everything there is to do a long time ago, I tend to stay bored. indifferent

I've always lived within a 20 miles radius of our family ranch. I have the same friends from grade school, and my first circle of adult friends have been in my life for about 18 years. Nine years is the shortest amount of time I've known a few of my friends.

Even though I have not lived anywhere else, I do travel a lot. Aside from California cities, I've been to several cites around the nation; I've also been to Ireland, Germany, Switzerland, Milan and Liverpool – as well as Mexico and Costa Rica.

Traveling does not give a person the same experience as living in multi-cultural regions. I like that I am stable but I also crave experiencing a life away from Sacramento. flowerforyou

Shrooms up in Wasatch, stoned on State st. Drunk, high, and coked out talking my way out of walking down the street at 2 in the morning to a Clearfield City cop. Fun times, actually.

I wasn't, but everyone else was. I ended up taking some mescaline pellets instead, then I was trippin.

I've moved many times from the east coast to the west... I love huntington beach Ca and I love NY city, and now I am stuck in the south.

of course I miss friends and family the most but I always seem to find good new friends.

Seems like I've been pretty much everywhere... New York, New Jersey, Texas, Illinois, Colorado, Alaska, The Azores, and the most god-forsaken place on earth Diego Garcia, and finally California. Cali is home now, but I miss the green of New York, and the Rockies in Colorado. And I miss my family like crazy sometimes...

I meant I literally 'trip' all the time..rolling down the hill, 'rock surfing' down the slope, getting my hair caught in branches...

Texas ... Clear Lake City is home towne: I miss the ocean, the forest, the bayou, my hideaways, my first great kiss, the oldest of my friends, the touchstone buildings that contained me as I experienced 0 to 26, the departed family I had -always close, never forgotten - that I'd like to hold and speak to/laugh w/ ... Dreamt my brother was alive again last night, waking up sucked! I'll never miss the heat, humidity, bugs or prejudice ...

Plon, Germany: The lake freezing and crossing it by foot on Xmas to a lil cafe that was only open that day. The street markets under my flat - going to get fresh bread, cheese and coffee at each respective shop, daily - Breakfast there was the best! SO clean and crisp was the winter air there ...

Amsterdam: Tolerance, incredible food and chocolates, Bob's Youth Hostel, world visitors, the walks, the coffee shops, the boats, the canals, the great friends, travelling all of Europe and Scandinavia w/ this as base camp ... Tulips? Yeah, sure, tulips ... ???

London, England: I miss every single thing, except the food/cooking and black schtuff in my nose... The sweet hospitality, all of Europe's finest there practicing their English, all the folks from the British colonies there to reek havoc (Aussies, Kiwis, etc.), fast transpo to anywhere by train, red double deckers or tube, zero need to drive/own a car, my dear friends and ex who is my very best friend in life, my school, my colleagues, my clients, the long walks, the pubs, my favourite clinic I've ever had, my flat w/ the entire roof as garden, the parties, the comedy, the theater, the flea markets, the street markets, fresh flowers sold cheaply on every corner, travelling the entire UK from there ... Much, much, infinitely more!

Waterford, Eire: Amazing people, the greens were the most flourescent greens I'veEVER seen, the music, the accents, the sessions, the tight knit camaraderie, village life, the laughter, the rain, the epic walks, the smells, mashed pos/carrots/turnips, oatmeal bread, the amazing day trips, the nature, the moors, the poetry that flowed from me w/ ease, the REAL Guinness (doesn't taste the same anywhere else!) ...

Fethiye, Turkey: Small sleepy fishing towne on the med, no cars and only accessible by boat, half hr. only by boat one way was a secluded spot on the Med that no cars could access, half an hr. the other way was also an only accessible by this boat, ice cold, secluded lake w/ ONLY a hot spring - housed in a mosque-like structure that also had one lil tea/beer house conjoined to the bldg. This was also base camp to travel all of Turkey ...

NOW - Boulder, CO: Clean air, clean water, majestic nature, dynamic scenery, views and horizon, highly educated, clever and awakened folks, very liberal, very tolerant, very activist, very green, very healthy, very free concerning my trade/Natural Medicine, more entrepreneurs per square mile than any place in US, the creek through the towne, life in a vacation destination, 5 mins to anywhere in towne, 20 mins to Denver, 20 mins to some of the most epic places in the US, great programs for kids ... The platoons of trust funders (also the most per square mile in US!)? No thanx - me no likely so much, ugghhh ... I also miss the ocean SO badly ... FIRST time to EVER live in landlock, who knew!? *huge sniff and sigh*

Life and the Planet have been good to me - flowerforyou - I still want more! I reckon it is the half Norwegian, Viking~Gypsy in me!?

Edit: Onward, on up ... ... Great question, (((Joel)))!

My oldest friend is 2 days younger than I. We shared the same nursery in the hospital and grew up right next to each other. We are still good friends today.

My best friend I have knew since kindergarten and he's still my best friend today. Except he has been in prison for the last 10 or so years. He gets paroled every now and then and we pick up right where we left off. Then he will break probation and go right back. Funny & sad at the same time.

Yes, it is ... ... duuuhhhhrrrr ...

Knock - knock! ... Whos' there? ... Home Towne! ... Home Towne who???

... Home towne from whence I ORIGINALLY came ... As in Op's question ... spock

Hence, the 0 to 26 years there ...

Hence, also the bolded NOW - designating where I currently reside ... Boulder, CO

It was even in almost perfect chronology ...

think ... Proving once again, some just skim profiles and posts ... slaphead

Ya silly noodge ...

Also ... ... Brain Fart of my own: corrected Turkish towne's name to Dalaman on the river Dalayan; Fethiye was just another kewl Turkish towne on the Med, not the one I resided in ...
