One of the biggest issues for the 2008 presidential election. What kind
of healthcare system do you think should be implemented in America? Here
are the options:

Universal-Everybody is covered, at the cost of increased taxes
Mixed-Government intervention where necessary. helps the poor, but can
cause an overall rop in the quality of healthcare
Dual-all the benefits and problems of universal except some of the
burden is taken off of the system by allowing people to have a higher
standard of care by paying extra
Privatized-The free market solution, allow the market to determine
costs. may leave poor without care, but decreases tax burden

Personally I lean well towards universal or dual, because the evidence I
have seen suggests those to be better than the other options, that and
under the current system my pre-existing condition (the aspergers)
causes my family to have to pay more for coverage, which is extrememly
annoying. Also when my father had to get his gallbladder removed it cost
$10,000 before insurance if I recall correctly.

whatever they have in Cuba.

anything good enough to keep fiddie alive this long cant be too bad huh?

universal would cost more than just raised taxes, it would cost good
competative care, sorry it isnt a perfect world that didnt compete but
it isnt so, if all is the same equal and the rest of it, then the
competative edge goes away leaving the people to suffer, they have it in
canada- but there are canucksw flooding into america for ours not
theres- why is that i wonder.

you know for a country that is all jacked up there seems to be a hell of
a lot of people trying to get in. why?

a healthcare system where doctors understand medicine and honor their
title....unlike the medics that try to call themselves a Phd.

Medicine is Universal by nature, not competitive, or capitalist as you
make it out!

It is reaearch and education. It would be sad if doctors didnt share
their reasearch results and cures so they could be competitive at the
expense of human life.(job security)

Should they keep their secrets to the grave, and let others have to
figure things out for their self.(competitive)

Instead of sharing what they learn and have the next Physician build,
and improve on that.(Universal)

not arguing with anyone but the fanatic militant who claims to have been
into some serious gun battles, the irony is that the wounds she claimed
to have received are not consistant with the wounds that would have been
received.

can not stand the whole lying thing. come with the truth or shut the
hell up- ranting about the demise of descent hard working people because
you have a hard time with your own kind, surprising you have the burka
off in your pics.

whats a medic? nothing more than a dead man walking, it dont matter.

Doc, I am not stepping in for Alex as she can take care of herself. I
know her. We have spoken on the phone and I believe her. She is the real
deal and obviously you two are on opposite ends of the spectrum but
remember that while she is standing there kicking you in the balls and
you are screaming "militant", the two of you share an admirable quality.
And that quality is helping people that are hurt. Get to know Alex
beyond all the hatred. You will be pleasantly surprised. (and maybe she
will stop kicking you in the balls.......... nah, but it is worth a try.

If you were to describe any government run program in two words the
first word would have to be "CLUSTER" you want an example the efficiency
that government is capable of, look at FEMA or the postal service.
Holland has a government run medical program and half your income goes
for taxes. The only efficient program will be one that is run by
private enterprise.

Affordable health insurance should be available to all who wantit, but a
mandatory government run program will be an absolute disaster and it
matters not which party sets up the program.
