As some of you know, I have my house on the market....the real estate agent just called me today and told me they have a showing scheduled for 11 am..
 .. There is so much more I wanted to do to the house before they brought anyone in....one bedroom definitely needs a coat of paint and I can't clean the basement because of my neck problem. (Stairs make me dizzy sometimes) Please keep your fingers crossed that it looks okay as it is...

I just went through the same thing. Most people wouldn't pay as much attention to things as you would in the house. I hope you can sell it..........

as long as there are no termites and the plumbing is all in order, and of course the price is right, paint is minor detail. which save your energy, cuz the buyer will repaint everything anyways, just take some clorox all purpose to the most needed areas, get some glade plug ins, aroma therapy always helps too, keep them calm and inviting.

great point, many people underestimate the power of aroma when selling a house.
light, fresh scents are always better...if your house has a lot of natural light try something that brings the outdoors in, like eucalyptus or pine. (not pine sol, but pine)on the other hand, if the house is darker than use something a bit more homey, such as cookie scented candles or perhaps banana nut bread. i know it sounds strange, but it does work. |

Get outta here! What a jerk. Well now you know you will have more time to fix up the house they way you want it to be. walmart and kmart both have great smelling candles.

Sorry they canceled but as some says look at the focal points. Bring rooms down to where it is nice but not cluttered. Less is better when trying to sell. Not only makes the rooms look bigger but gives the home buyer more of and idea what to do.
As far as paint like some said they will repaint it anyway. My daughter just bought a house they had repainted all the rooms that were not done in the wood. Needless to say she bought the house and she wanted every room re-painted again.  Wishing you the best of luck hopefully they will re-schedule and it will give you time to do little touch ups.

The one bedroom REALLY needs to be repainted, thanks to my daughter and her friends "tagging" it a few years ago with colored hairspray. They were too young to buy spray paint and I had bought the hair spray for Halloween but they found another use for it.
I told her it was her room and if she wanted to stay in that mess, fine...hoping she would want it painted, but being a teen  she stayed in it. Thank you for the encouraging words. It will work out in time.
