I am not saying one is better than another, however society dictates treatment to be different, doesn't it??!!

You don't want to get on societal dictates and conformity with me LMAO........just because society dictates doesn't make society correct.....and it doesn't make those that do not follow or adhere to societal dictates wrong........changing yourself to against your natural self in order to meet societal dictates go against nature......let's open the mind here

Since when did anyone say this was a debate? My point is along the lines of what Ms Harmony is saying .....We dont eat people....There are no petting zoos with kids in them. The list of differences goes on and on.........

Lol.....actually the child zoos are called daycares. LMAO....just stating fact....and yes human are the disease of nature.....with self superiority complexes

GPS tracking collars!

But then again there are the less embarrassing ankle bracelets!

Now when they make the real secret decoder rings with GPS tracking then we are talking Neat-o!

biggrin

And, in all actuality, sometimes we do eat people (think Soylent Green[I know, it's just a movie]), and I have no doubts that to this day there are children being kept in cages and displayed (think sex trafficking). Asserting that we are worlds apart from other animals is a trap I'd prefer not to fall in.

No need to think of Soylent green, there are tribes that eat human flesh.

paper also serves a purpose but I would hardly suggest it be on equal ground with the human race,,,,

of course we are not vegetable or mineral, but we are the TOP of the food chain for a reason,,,,we are indeed a BIT more talented and evolved than common animals,,,because we have a conscience and we live off of more than JUST basic instincts when relating with each other,,,
evolved........remember you said that ..... not created

evolve: a : derive, educe

b : to produce by natural evolutionary processes

c : develop, work out <evolve social, political, and literary philosophies — L. W. Doob

I am not opposed to them, it's no different if not better than having to pull a child who is resisting by squeezing their wrist to prevent them from running off and hurting them. A lot of children actually enjoy the lil backpacks because it makes them feel like a big person and they can not feel the attachment on the back. They are not intended to be pulled along or dragged as a dig would be on his walk. It simply allows the children to feel as though they have the freedom to walk around without the risk of the unpredictability of them darting into the street or into a crowd at a large theme park.

If the adults get ball gags and strap ons....the kids get leashes. That way they feel normal.

Hell, I have worn a leash just to go out dancing. They match everything and chicks love a man on a leash.

Not even kidding.

What's your take on it?

I think it's yet another indication of the lack of parental responsibility that is becoming the norm these days.

How long before we just implant GPS chips in our infants so we can know where they are every minute of every day without having to be present in their lives? Think this is far-fetched? Think again...it's on the horizon.

I think leashing children is ridiculous!! Here, let me stick this leash on you in the guise of giving you some freedom to explore; when in all actuality, it is I who am gaining the freedom...the freedom to not pay attention to you well enough to keep you safe which is supposed to be my main priority in life. Give me a break. Get off the damn cell phone, stop planning when you're going to get your bikini wax done, and watch your fricken kid!

IMO the leash thing is no different than parent that use the tv as a built in babysitter. If someone isn't ready for the responsibility of raising a child then said someone should have used protection to avoid pregnancy.

Personally I could never put my child on a leash, what next? pacifiers that look like dog bones? toddler food that looks like dog food (although some baby food already does look like that lol)?

Oh oh I know...beds that look like dog houses mwahahahaha

What's really sad is that i've seen some people treat their pets better than they treat their kids....

What's your take on it?

I know that they are used to protect children, but it almost seems like a restraint to me. With all the laws that they have for children, I am suprised they are even legal.

Isn't it a safety thing? I mean, kids wander off all the time. That doesn't make their parents bad people or neglecting if the kid wanders off. If you are an active parent and have to take your child with you on errands, it is IMPOSSIBLE to keep an eye on them 100% of the time. Holding hands is fine, but the leash actually gives the child MORE leeway to walk around and explore a little bit. It's not like you're playing fetch with them is it? Does that make a crib like a dog kennel?

yea it is a safety thing....

never once when i bought it or used it did i think to myself

oh...freedom for me!!!!! I dont have to parent!!!!

nope....

I was scared todeath of losing her with 3 others to watch also!!

no i didnt like it...it was more a bother than not using it..but it served its purpose....kept her safe from wandering off or being snatched when i had that 2 seconds of looking away...

the bottom dollar for me was............

all four babies came home safe and sound and happy and content....

and had the times of their lives at the zoo....

so all who think i am a sub-human.....a bad mom....a lazy mom....a bad parent....etc.

hahahahbigsmile bigsmile bigsmile
