Now they're saying Bush commuted the sentence in order to keep Libby quiet. A great many tell-all books have been written in prison. fair or not, I personally can't wait for the crap to hit the fan(and it most definitely will)about this, BY FAR, the most corrupt administration in political history-and imagine the ground that statement covers!

Have we forgotten all of the pardons given by th Clinton administration? Even his own brother? Makes commuting a sentance a pretty tame thing by comparison.

All pardons aren't alike. That's what we're missing here. I'm waiting to hear one-just one-good reason Libby should have his sentence commuted WITHOUT mentioning Bill Clinton and/or the Clinton Administration. Ball's in your court, folks.

Okay, I LOVE to repeat myself...

1) It's presidental perogative
2) Libby was innocent

4fun why must I constantly remind people that profanity is a small mind's feble attempt at self expression. If one is not eloquent enough to express oneself without profanity perhaps one should remain silent. Remember that it is better to be thought a fool than to speak and remove all doubt.

We point to similar actions by the previous president to point out the disparity and bias with which liberals would apply justice. They have always had one set of rules for themselves and another much more stringent set for conservatives.

Spidercmb-about your two points:

1-With power comes responsibility. Bush failed miserably at this, like he always does.
2-He may have been in your world, but here on Earth, he's guilty as sin.

My congrats. You failed, just like Bush, to make a good point. But, you DID leave Clinton out of your "answer". A conservative first!

"With power comes responsibility. Bush failed miserably at this, like he always does". More ambigious accusation. When did your personal opinion become fact.

Why can't we bring Clinton? Did he not lie to a grand jury? is that not illeagal. Did he or did he not issue pardons to friends and associates? Is that acceptable?
If so why? Because he's a socialist? Because you like him?

knoxman,

"With power comes responsibility. Bush failed miserably at this, like he always does. "

He's not Spider-man. He's just a normal human who happens to be the most power man in the world. You are completely wrong, he didn't fail at all. He pardoned Libby and Libby was pardon. SUCCESS! If you are making an opinion call, that Libby shouldn't have been pardoned, I go back to my original statement: It's presidental perogative. You aren't the president, sorry.

"He may have been in your world, but here on Earth, he's guilty as sin"

In this world, we are all guilty as sin. Libby is guilty of many things, but not for any crimes that he was accused of. The facts speak for themselves, it's not my fault that you can't understand them.

"My congrats. You failed, just like Bush, to make a good point. But, you DID leave Clinton out of your "answer". A conservative first! "

Not really, conservatives do that all the time, but you were probably so busy kissing his ass, you couldn't be bothered to see what Monica was doing just a foot away. He LIED to a Grand Jury that was prosecuting a crime (Libby, even if he lied, didn't lie in a criminal investigation, because there was NO CRIME to investigate). Clinton lost his law license to one of his own students...oh the irony. She fully expected him to be impeached and serve prison time, so she stopped at disbarrment and a fine.

Does anyone remember this woman?

During the summer of 2005, then-New York Times reporter Judith Miller went to jail for 85 days for refusing to reveal who gave her the name of CIA operative Valerie Plame. Miller eventually was freed when that source, Lewis "Scooter" Libby, then chief of staff to the vice president, releases her from her pledge of confidentiality.

JUDITH MILLER, Former Reporter, New York Times: I was a journalist doing my job, protecting my source until my source freed me to perform my civic duty to testify.

I thought maybe people had forgotten her. She spent more time in jail just for not revealing her source, Scooter Libby, than Libby, her source did. I just wanted to clear that up so people will quit sayin Libby is not guilty! HE IS!!! Read her testimony here: http://www.pbs.org/newshour/bb/law/jan-june07/libby_01-30.html

There is also question to the legality of Bush's commutation of Libby's sentence. It appears that this is the first time ever that all appeal proceedings were not exhausted before a pardon or commuted sentence was handed out by a President. They, Congress and the Justice Department are looking into this as it appears George Bush acted so quick he didnt even consult with attornet's. Could get real interesting!!!

Fanta46,

Wrong, sorry. She had MANY sources and the only want Fitzgerald was interested in was Libby. She only got approval to speak from Libby and absolutely refused to even attempt to get approval to speak from her other sources. It was a witch hunt by a prosecutor who didn't like the administration, he was only interested in the testimony about a member of the VPs office.

Opinion? It's your opinion, Spidey, that Libby's innocent, when the facts and the jury found him guilty. Please stop blasting other's "opinions" when you have offered NOTHING but your opinions. But you're right and everyone else is wrong. *sigh*. Let us know when you leave fantasyland and wish to rejoin us here in the real world.
