I have been struggling with my vacuum for a week or more. It just wouldn't pic up. Cleaned all the hoses out and the filters and even cleaned all the lint off the brushes. Made sure that there were no obstructions for the belt and still the damn thing wouldn't pic up.

Well finally believing that the roller must be too worn or something like that I took it apart today one more time.

Then think think think think think think the belt was probably worn. Sure enough it was smooth on the inside. Put the new belt, which I had in the drawer, on and it is amazing how clean the carpet is finallyslaphead

I am a happy camper now.   I hate dirty floors.tears

Funny, I went thru this a couple of months ago..Tore that darn thing apart several times, checked all the hoses and openings, belts, etc.. Finally I took it to a repair shop.. The guy checked it all out and cleaned it a little and then said the only thing he could find was that the plate on the bottom wasn't on correctly..lol It works fine now grumble grumble noway

yep, couldn't figure out why my heater wasn't working in the truck. I could actually see my breath in it. Relized I had the air on. It would probably make a good blonde joke. slaphead

I throw out more vacuums that look pretty damn near new on my trash routes and it usually is something simple I should bring them home fix and sell them

I probably would have never thought to changed the belt as long as the roller was turning!laugh I was married 21 years to a carpenter & I'm usally a do-it-yourselfer too!! I learned a lot over the years when I couldn't get him to fix things around the house I learned how to do them myself. Then came a time I didn't need him anymore...We'd probably still be together if he'd only listened!!rofl

a lot of times they don't think to clean out the hose which gets clogged with pet hair very easily

Same with carpet cleaners heck had one giving to me cause they said it would not suck right. All I did was take it apart take all the seals out and clean them all and put Vaseline on them to revamp them. Put it back together and used it for like 4 years before my son came in one night and did not see it knocked it over and broke itslaphead

I worked as a set up in a plastics factory a few years back.
I learned to not be afraid of tools then.
I will help fix a car but I have to have someone tell me whats wrong and what to do.
