I've been with a guy 4 months who makes his living traveling on the road. He's a surface miner who constructs the chutes, buildings, etc getting coal mines up to code. He's one of those guys who leaves at a moments notice to go from one state to another & one job to another to make a living. He makes more in a day than I make in a week. Yesterday I just quit my min wage job to go on the road with him. He went to IN a couple weeks ago to visit with his kids & I was a total basket case without him here. I know I'm taking a gigantic leap & risk to be with him but he's asked me to go on the road with him & I've decided I can't risk losing him & we go on the road this week headed for PA. I know I'm taking a major risk & hope things works out. But, the alternative of living without him is more than I can bear. Out of 21 years of marriage & numerous relationships no one has ever turned my head & captured my heart like he has. If you found the person you feel you have waited for all your life who makes living a blessing instead of a curse how far would you go? Would you take the risk & give up all your familiar with to be with that perrson?

Tessa, I'm doing just that with my own situation. That's how confident I am. A lot of people wouldn't agree with me - would criticize me - but the woman I am with asks nothing of me but love. Because I have known her for several months, and talked with her about almost every important topic I can think of, I am certain she is the one....and it is a long distance relationship. Since someone has to move to make this all come together, I decided it would be me. I never imagined myself doing anything like this, and yet I am looking forward to it. In fact, I am flying to visit her for her birthday. Before the end of the year, I will likely be moving to be with her.

So, if it feels right, follow your heart and go with it. You know yourself best. The only person you have to answer to is yourself.

I wish you two the best!! I'd never thought I'd be doing this myself. I'd planned on relocating out of state this spring before we met. My rent will be paid up for 2-3 months in case things doesn't work out I'll still have my apt to come back home too. My kids are grown & I hardly see them anymore & figure it's time for me to take a chance on happiness. I've spent 7 months on the road 3 years ago & used to living place to place & out of bags in motels, etc. It's not the easiest life. But, with him I think it'll work out!! I'm way beyond the big house on the hill, 6 kids & a white picket fence with a big dog in the front yard! Keep it simple!!

If I had the money I would...I've built my life on risks and most of those have been far less useful than finding someone. I would go to California if I could, I would take the risk but then again for me it isn't usually a risk...dunno, maybe I just look at things differently.

The experience is usually more than worth it.

I'd make him buy you a ring and get hitched. Then go. If he does you wrong, you can divorce him and take it all. Muwhahahahahahahahahaha! pitchfork

I think I would give up everything for the man I love. I have a career, a great support system and a grandson. If I EVER found someone that I felt I couldn't live without, I would give it all up. They will always be here upon my return.
