As a person who can define and explain a little bit of love, and also understands the principles involved in love; i don't know why some people think that for a young guy to date older lady or likewise is wrong! We all, as long as we have sound knowledge in love, know that love dosen't select age.All we need is, and always will be "true love."In my own knowledge and undestanding i know that a relationship between a younger guy and an older lady, likewise a younger lady and an older guy will always bring true happiness and affection as long as "true love"is there. Please i advice everybody to stop abussing or disliking someone when you see he/she is in a serious relationship with someone older /younger than he/she.Just think of love and ask yourself;"is it wrong to be in a relationship with an older lady/guy?"LET LOVE DECIDE YOUR FAITH!

To be happy in our lives is what counts, no one deserves to be miserable! age difference does not matter at all!, if your happy, I dated a woman 20 yrs older than I and I was never happier, also we never know who is our soul mate, we all should have an open mind and be happy for those who even think they have found love!

For love of 1 month or 50 years in a world of misery and pain who are we to judge if it makes any one happy we should not condemn, for a love lost is better to of never loved at all, who said that???

sincerely, vince chamri

Hey yoounger women are great too if it's right you just know!!! if not call me i'll tell ya

love is never wrong, love is a selfless emotion

confusing LOVE with appropriate behavior is another story though

I think society places an inordinate amount of stress on PHYSICAL ATTRACTION = love or needing to preclude love and women generally are considered more beautiful the younger they are

so, socially, its 'weird' for anyone to love(find attraction with) an older woman INSTEAD of a younger one

I think love has no biological age boundaries, but compatibility certainly plays a part in how SUCCESSFUL a relationship will be and we tend to be more compatible with those at similar points in their life, those who are EMOTIONALLY and INTELLECTUALLY on the same wavelength(regardless of age)

its probably rare though, that a 20 year old, for instance, has an equal emotional and intellectual capacity as a sixty year old which is why society tends to feel such an arrangement very unequal and unlikely to succeed

I think, the fewer blinders you wear in life,
the more you see.
I judge no one by the obvious.
Age, religion, body type, job, money, think
what you miss with sweeping 'requirements.'

The real question is why does it matter?

I have seen a lot of different types of relationships succeed
I have seen a couple where a man was 20 yrs older than his wife
I have seen a couple where a woman was 15 yrs older than her husband
I have seen a couple that's been together 30 yrs yet never married
I have seen a couple who got married 3 months after meeting and are still together

The only thing that should matter is how two people feel about eachother and what both bring to the relationship. If it feels right, then who cares what people think..if it feels wrong, then get out of the relationship

Personally, age differences shouldn't matter. If two people love each other, what else do they need? This type of relationship is wrong only if you alone believe it's wrong, not what other people think. After all it's you and your partner's lives, not there's.

Insecurities like that can cause people to miss out on possibly finding love.

it's important to distinguish love from infatuation (as a student having a crush on a teacher or a friend's older sister) and real love

it's also important to distinguish a desire for an experienced sex partner from love

as love is something - something more

if u can eliminate those items from the equation then ya gotta shot and the age difference doesn't have to matter - but I am very realistic and would ask this of any man under say....45 who expressed an interest:

it's also important to remember - if she's (me) a lot older - that she's gonna have wrinkles and she's not gonna look like a 25 yo and she will age faster than you will - ageing happens slowly at first, but by 65 or 70 it will be very noticeable if it already isn't at 40 or 50

only if u can handle that truth and be prepared to be faithful - where a relationship is involved (and that is my goal) - should you proceed. and I think that is why so often these things don't work

while for some reason women can often accept the physical aging of a man, men I think have a harder time accepting the physical aging of a woman and lose interest as soon as we no longer look like "bunnies" any more (even tho' they often don't look that great themselves, they expect us too). I think it is also more socially acceptable for a much older man to be seen in public with a much younger woman than the reverse. Prolly an innate - she can no longer bear children instinct or somethinglaugh

But, again, if you can get past these issues, I think it could work - why not

Love doesn't see age....and other peoples opinions other than the couple involved doesn't matter

After a lot of thinking. Sorry about that, btw.. :) Age is still just a number. Age doesn't control feelings or emotions. Age doesn't make one wiser or more experienced with anything. Life does all of that for us as we all change with whatever we are going through in our life. It's difficult to understand a book unless we take the time to read it and comprehend it. Make whatever choice we want to make but try to not regret our own choices. :)

yes, it does because that is the reality

I like to leave the door open for those who are not bothered by that reality but I think they are by far the exceptions

Younger men/older women and older men/younger women. Generally this wasn't a serious subject until the last five, maybe ten years. The term MILF was nonexistant up until American Pie in 1999. One of the first concepts of a Cougar was the movie The Graduate. Like other popular sexually related subjects I wonder how much of this is driven from porn industry.

Do I think it's wrong? No, but there would be very little commonality between a twenty-one year old male and a fourty-five year old woman. A relationship between a man and woman the same age can be difficult enough. The same would be true of older men dating younger women. To me, at least, it would seem odd. Dating someone my daughters age is something I couldn't do.
