I think I am looking for the impossible. A guy with the 'John Wayne' Factor.

Not necessarily the cowboy type, a guy who believes in hard work, knows how to be sweet, but not be a wussy and can stand up for himself. Someone with a sense of respect and honor.

Most importantly, someone who knows how to kiss a lady when she desperately needs, instead of another fight.

What about someone with a Woody factor? Just to be clear, I mean the cowboy from Toy Story, perverts.

Funny 'Tom Hanks' type guys are definitely in my category.

The John Wayne guys are out there, but they have every damsel in distress throwing themselves at them that they do not need to be looking I guess...lol

Dream all you want, but be careful what you wish for...you just might get it. Think about John Wayne in all his movies... I do not remember him ever settling down with one girl, he was always on the move or in fights...some kind of trouble. Not to mention his drunken stages and everything else...lol. I grew up idolizing him but you have to pick and choose which qualities you want to remember...

Okay, specifically John Thornton in the Quiet Man, my favorite movie.

LOL...So you want an old fighter? With fighters it is had to turn off the urge to fight...

Not necessarily, but a guy with a similar attitude. I'd like to feel like the woman in the relationship.

OK. Now let's start looking for somebody with the Maureen O'Hara factor.

I    John Wayne! love

Just remember that movies and books are not real. Yes, there are great men out there, but you may overlook the perfect one for you if you are looking too closely for an ideal you saw in the movies.

ummm not really- if they are JoHn Wayne type fights where he's a brawler maybe that's true

but a man/woman who is a fighter usually has been trained with honor and does not fight outside of the ring

I understand exactly what you want OP. Men like this are rear indeed. Sometimes he'll infuriate you, but you know you can trust him.

Now, if we could only figure out what Myrna Loy had!
