Look! I'm sorry if I made you do all the cooking & cleaning.

But who does all the work in bed? laugh ~Andrew "dice" Clay

That would be the gardener. laugh

Are you demanding they cook and clean for you?

Pretty much yes

It depends on the situation doesn't it? If you are working and they are not and they are living with you then yes they should cook and clean. If you are living together and both working you should split the duties.

At least you were honest. But yes, I'd say that's a bad thing.

Is it a bad thing to demand that someone you date meet the requirements of being able to cook and clean?

It is very bad for me. I have always had the housemaid do it for me as I do not enjoy doing them. Only do those when I feel like doing them (on very rare moods) but most especially, never on demands or requirements of a partner. Take it or leave me grumble Exactly the reason why I have never demanded a partner to meet a requirement he is not able to meet.

It's a bad thing to demand.

How would you react to your date's "demands" on you, if, heaven forbid, they were on the same high horse as you?
Focus on what's on offer and offer yourself, all this domestic stuff ought to come later. Much much later.

I clearly see how wording these post can make a difference... ok maybe I used the wrong choice of words... Im not particularly "demanding" or "requiring"... lets just replace the words with "prefer"... you guys are making me seem like a "controlling" "dominant" "do as I say" type of person. GEESH HOLD YOUR HORSES POEPLE... and whats with the judgemental comments, some of you folks need a drink... SERIOUSLY!

Fair enough. You are correct about wording and people taking it wrong.....I did and I would be suprized if I didn't ever do it again. Sory about that.

If you prefer someone who is gonna pitch in and do thier fair shair...Hell Yeah! No one gets a free ride. Besides...if they truly value you....and respect you....they should be willing to pitch in. Life don't give out many free rides.

Hey. Its your call. Good luck with it. As Dr. Phil asks, "How is that working for you?" I guess a 'mate' and a 'date' can be construed as being different if you want it to be. I do a lot of dishes but my boarder does cook. Eating out is just not prudent at this juncture with finances and the cost of restaurant food. Come to think of it eating anything at all is just not feasible at this juncture. Grocery prices have skyrocketed. We need that guy from the old Grapenuts commercial to teach us how to eat tree bark and the like.laugh

Doing their fair share is one thing. The OP said she was looking for someone to cook and clean for her, though.
