In Texas... for the past couple years we've been in drought during the summer..
But for some reason, this year, up until this past weekend, it had been raining somewhere around my area everyday(!) for almost a month.
And we had a WINTER storm.
That never happens.

This is Europe though. Have you noticed how there's even been eartquakes and tornadoes in the uk. Not to mention all the flooding.
I've lived in Germany since 1982, And I've never experienced anything like this.
We haven't really had what you would call a real winter here for about 10 years.
It just seems like spring, Summer, Fall, Spring, Summer, Fall continuously.

To uk1971. When did you think hailstorms happen. They form high up in supercell thunderstorms. Hail does not come in the winter, at least not in the northern hemisphere, that is caused by cold temperatures on the ground and in the air,
In a supercell, the updraft is strong enough to water droplets 60,000ft up. Pretty cold way up there. These waterdroplets connect with water droplets and eventually the hail stone is too big and down they come
Freezing rain and ice pellets have a different type of cloud, these in the winter do not become supercells. That is part of global warming and that is WTF is going on.

well explained sing. Global warming is effecting the polar ice caps, melting them and causing global waters to rise. Local changes in your weather while there are slight.

So, to just notice these weather changes, or do something about it?
Look at how you burn electricity, how you burn fossil fuels...and before someone says, 'Yeah, well, what difference can I do?" Think about, how accumulative reducing emissions can impact...300 mill in the States..20 mill in Australia..etc etc..

We can make an impact in a positive way..turn off the lights you aren't using, turn your appliances off at the wall..don't leave them on standby...change your bulbs to flourescent, take bags with you when doing your groceries...get out and walk to the corner store...give a neighbour a lift, when you are driving...plant a few trees in your backyard...

Educate yourselves...go cruising on the net for ways YOU can make a difference...to your pocket...and your world.

As to laying blame...it's like shutting the gate after the horse has bolted...it's semantics...it's what can be done to prolong human existance, that is of more interest o me...for my children...yours...the future of our unborn great grand children...

Then yer gonna need to come up with some way to control the cycles of the sun Jess.

Good point Hanged, this Solar system does it's thing, with or without us...but the damage to this biosphere...this atmosphere, and the natural breathing cycles of this earth...the deforestation..the change within the oceans natural 'pump' for warm and cold temperatures...we have contributed to...we have contributed to shifting the balance..and without the protection of the atmosphere, the natural balance and cycles...do impact.

Acceleration is what we have contributed to...

I refuse to just shrug...throw my hands in the air, and say well it will all be gone soon..and what do I care..I will be dead anywya..grumble
