Id say our culture is more forgiving of men cheating because it is more indoctrinated into a belief that men arent 'meant' to have one partner and are instead meant to hunt several and spread their seed around

Spiritual aspects as well, but in all those differences, we really aren't so different, jmho.)

My answer is a combination of these two. I believe that because our culture is more forgiving of men cheating, they are more apt to admit it than women. We'll never truly know.

As to who is more monogomous gender wise.....neither.

We aren't wired to be monogomous...we are conditioned to believe we are.

If as a species humans were monogomous...this site would not exist...we would all have one love....and only one....in our whole lifetime.

Splitting hairs and attempting to justify monogomy...by saying, 'Oh I have ALWAYS been faithful when with a partner, he/she was the dirty dog who couldn't keep their pants up'....is just that.

If you took the whole 'ownership' of another's genitals and where they put them, out of a relationship...you may find the whole focus and fear surrounding 'cheating' disappears, and people would find themselves comfortable, AND satisfied with their partner of choice.

Too much victim mentality exists in your country, and as a consequence, others who blindly follow your culture...seriously...if half your population would toughen up, take accountability for their actions, you would be considered admirable, as a country.

Are you saying that being faithful in a relationship means nothing? Then I disagree. Everyone, at one time or another, has the opportunity to have sex with someone other than their partner. When I am in a committed relationship, it is understood that we aren't going to screw anyone else we're attracted to. I am 'keeping my pants up' and I expect my partner to do the same. It has nothing to do with who "owns" whose genitals. It's a matter of caring, trust and keeping your word.

I would never be comfortable or satisfied with a partner who sleeps with anyone when he feels like it, including my sister, best friend, neighbor or whoever. If you are keeping your part of the agreement and your partner is sleeping with others, you ARE a victim. If you find out and stay with him/her, then you're allowing yourself to be victimized. There is a difference.

True, but society doesn't assume women as cheaters like they do men. Women can hide it easier.

Good thought. I've known several of each and I think inability or unwillingness to communicate is a big factor.
