And fingerpaintbynumber, it's absolutely appropriate that if people are feeling attacked, they SHOULD report abuse to us. If they don't and instead attack someone back, they'll be suspended or banned.

We are all adults here, but even adults can get out of hand sometimes. We have an environment we are trying to maintain, and we have put rules in place for that reason. Anyone who can't abide by them will be banned in the long run.

That having been said, we ban people as a last resort. We prefer to educate users first. But if they can't follow the rules, they will be banned - there are many users who've found that out the hard way.

my post have been deleted by people who dont like or disagree with me, one women said I sexiest cuase I had a topic in general discussion that said who is the hottest girl on jhs who will talk to me.... yet its ok to have who is the hottest guy? am not sure but I think you give to much freedom to people to report.. some people are different and theres always someone to go around looking for them to start a fight.. ow can we report people who abuse the report button is that noticed by management??? thank you mike and I love the site..

First, Thanks Mike for keeping site nice and clean and friendly.
Second I have been around people who have tried to commit suicide and have done some couseling so if anyone needs to talk I am here to listen and I might be able to have you ask yourself the right ? to help you out. and what is said to me stays with me. So I am here for anyone anytime if I am not on I will reply as soon as I get on computer because this is where I come.

Mike, I am glad to ehar that you are gonna have any threads like the suicide note one erased immediately, but may I make a siuggestion? When you see one come up, and this goes for anyone that sees one come up, report it immediately to 911. In your case Mike, you and Van I believe have access to the ip address and such (inorder to ban users etc.) and if you dont, I am sure the police or someone can.

I know internet suicide notes have been reported before, and if it only helps to prevent one suicide in one thousand, that is still better than not having tried at all, right?
For everyone else, I know you dont have access to the ip address, but as I said, if you report it, then the local authorities can, worst case scenario, get a warrant to find the ip address and thus go find the person who posted it in order to get the person the help they need.

And please remember, a threat of suicide, hell even someone just mentioning it, is not a plea for attention. It is a plea for help, EVERY SINGLE TIME and should be helped immediately.

I too have had training in suicide prevention (mandatory training for soldeirs in my brigade at fort drum new york), and am familiar with programs that are available to assist you. So please if The thought has even entered you hear for just amoment, feel free to email me and I WILL respond as soon as I get it (and I am on almost every minute that I am home, unless I am sleeping, lol).

Thanks for being vigilant Mike If my understanding is correct and this guy did come in here for help, people please take matters like this seriuosly.About two months ago a fellow did himself in on a chat site here in the United Kingdom, people egged him on and he did it. So, please, let us return to the caring JSH I have come to know and love visiting

Speaking from someone who works in abusive situations daily,not to mention has help line thru yahoo why woyuld you ever dare someone to kill themself.Try putting yourself in that persons place why he was saying or acting like this instead you insult and say negative things.This is never a laughing matter.There are people on this site I have sat up with thru hours to make sure they didnt harm themself.The reason beinfg is regardless who or what they have done he is a human being,and a brother one of Gods creation.

Amen to all of your posts. Having been on the other side of the fence, I can relate to anyone who would like to talk to someone who has gon through it. I will answer any email or IM as soon as I see it. I here for anyone and everyone. I'm appalled at the way those members acted. I wasn't there but if I had been I would have done called 911 and then contacted Mike so he could do the same an track the IP addy........love and hugs to all and glad to hear Mike is keeping the site clean, caring and loving as it was when I joined.
