Good call tom. not had rolling rock or micelob for ages!  Rolling Rock originated in Latrobe, PA. Latrobe was around 30 miles from my college. We used to have "green" weekends. That meant heading for Latrobe on early Friday afternoon and picking up a trunkload of Rolling Rock and heading for the river. First one to get sick and pass out had to wear the "33" hat for a week. |

Cool thread resurrection! I used to like Genessee Cream Ale Drank a lot of Iron City Beer in college (yuk but effective) I can't stand BUD (tastes like dirt) We have a beer store that carries 238 different kinds of beer. They have one I would like to try called Not Your Father's Root Beer but they want $8.99 per 6-pk I like ginger beer, root beer and sarsaparilla. Can't find any sarspirilla locally tho. I'll drink some Rolling Rock every now and then. Regular stock is usually Michelob or Busch Light. i've had gennessee... it was trendy back around my high school years. the night your father's brands are high quality soda's with a kick. i'm not a root beer fan, but there's is about as good as any i've had and better than most. they make a nice ginger ale too. rolling rock was another popular trending beer during the high school years. i actually passed the brewery on the way to a job in pittsburg once, but it was late so i didin't get to stop in. |

i'm pretty sure i've had san miguel, but it was years ago and i don't really recall it making an impression.
leinenkugel is a respectable brewery, but the beers that galaxy mentioned aren't styles that i generally gravitate to. those that do generally find them respectable examples though, as i recall. good answer, nawty...that speaks to the irishman in me.  nice pic btw

I think San Miguel is one of those holiday beers, Europe, and they drink it when they return from holiday.
No. It doesn't stand out but is drinkable

right now the 2 go tos for me are coors and molson ice.
for most of my life it was michelob. right up until the local anheuser busch plant stopped bottling it and the local distributors refuse to get it in any more. but my all time favorite was michelob dry |

i've been to the coors brewery in golden, just after a day of river rafting.
it was my first brewery tour. if anyone every tells you you smell like a brewery, punch 'em. punch 'em right in the mouth! they aren't being very polite so neither should you be.

A German immigrant started brewing here and it's been going ever since. We had a restaurant called the Gerst Haus.. authentic German food, and Gerst on tap. |

sounds like the type of thing i seek out when i travel. too bad the gerst haus is gone, i would have loved to have that experience

The original one was cool.. had an Ompah band, a really cool train layout,
It's was a lot of fun. They had to move when they built the stadium and it was a crappy location. Pretty sure that was their downfall. |
