ELLICOTT, Colo. – A 37-year-old mother of two and a member of the Ellicott School Board has been arrested for allegedly sending sexually-charged text messages to a 14-year-old boy, according to the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office.

Authorities suspect Stefanie Dickinson began texting the boy after he joined her, her husband and their two sons on an August weekend trip out of town. According to an arrest warrant, she asked the boy for his cell phone number so she could text him pictures of the trip. Not long after, the school board member allegedly told the boy by text that she wanted to sneak out of the house to meet him.

"She's a parent of a student in this school," said Terry Ebert, Superintendent of Schools in Ellicott.

Dickenson has been treasurer of the Ellicott school board for the last two years.

The warrant also alleges Dickinson would meet the boy after his football practices and give him hugs.

Quoting the arrest warrant, her texts said "I want u." She spoke about having sex. "Baby, I will rock your (expletive) world!" And later, "You can't tell anyone about this at all because I would lose my family."

The text messages were discovered by the boy's sister who became suspicious after she saw Dickinson talking to her brother and hugging him.

“I was absolutely shocked. This is beyond belief that this would go on,” said Ernest Hudson, a parent of a student at Ellicott High School.

Hudson's daughter is a junior at Ellicott High School. He believes the allegations are damaging to everyone.

"It hurts the community, it hurts the school," Hudson said.

"I've addressed a few parent calls," Ebert said. He says Dickenson cannot legally be taken off the school board because of state statute, even with these allegations.

"Until she resigns, she is still on the board," Ebert said.

Dickinson worked part time at the radiology unit at Memorial Health System in Colorado Springs, and has been put on administrative leave.

Superintendent Ebert said he doesn't believe the board can take any action against another board member in this situation, but if Dickinson is convicted of a felony she will have to resign.

"It's pretty bizarre and not welcome here," one resident says. "Kids should be safe in school, they shouldn't have to be subjected to the advances of [an administrator]."

Reports say the boy told police he would not have interacted with Dickinson because he felt uncomfortable.

Dickinson is out on $3,000 dollars bond and has a court advisement next week.

Obviously you were never a 14 year old boy. I think almost every guy had at least 1 teacher he wanted to bone when he was in school lol. I can still remember a few.

since when are hugs abuse? the article didn't say anything about sex...just hugs... i think there is more to this story, and it is being slanted to make the woman look bad... i just saw the sex part, no wonder why i was confused...lol

If I were the father of the son I would be like that's my boy! I would be so proud.

All though if that were to happen to my daughter the guy would be dead.

It's ok with the boys, we can take care of ourselves, it helps with self esteem and definately helps their rep in school!

well growing up, my sister and I could take pretty good care of ourselves as well. We were brought up by our mother who had to work a lot to support us.

My son (at 14) isn't mature enough to handle something like that any more than a girl of 14. Man or woman....the adults are responsible and both should be considered the same.

And you can bet if a woman did that with my son....well facing me is something she wouldn't want to happen. And if his father approved of it...then he would have to deal with me too
