Say hi, be pleasant and then continue on with the date. No big deal.

I agree. Although I have never actually had this happen, I would imagine it would be uncomfortable (depending on the events that led to the breakup).

If it's uncomfortable, just go the other way. No need to start drama while on a date.

Sorry, just had an additional thought....what if you were so in love with the guy, or had been together a long time? Would that change how one would react?

Stay calm.
It might be hard to explain to the police
how your ex and his new girlfriend
jaywalked in front of your Hummer.

I'd just keep it brief if I had to say something.

i would just keep going and act like i didnt notice him unless he said something... if he decided to initiate contact, i would smile, be pleasant, and be BRIEF and be on my way...

Although this was clearly NOT a date, your post reminded me of the ONE time I was extremely uncomfortable. My late husband's old g/f from high school (we all went to h/s together) came to his visitation. They ended badly, thanks to her. I kept thinking, "be gracious say thank you for coming" . ugg that was hard

Unfortunately, even if you have good intentions, other people make things difficult. There's only so much you can do in these kind of situations.

Hummm would all depend if they say anything to me or not... If not I would just smile and keep going.. If they did I would keep it to small talk then move on...bigsmile
