Just a suggestion, but would anyone from the forum be interested in starting a Mingle's Meetup. Like pick a destination and take a trip there next year to meet each other and share in some fun and activities. I vote for Hawaii.

Just kinda takes a bit of planning and luck. It is hard to order pizza for three guys, arranging a weekend where no one is working is trickier.
Try thowing one together. With luck, you may get a hand full of people to attend. been to a couple and they were great! |

I recommend somewhere that's a bit more affordable than Hawaii, though. If you try to plan something there, it will be expensive and you may not get a great turn out.

Vegas is good because it is affordable and even pretty accessible for folks that matters too. Even non-gamblers like me can find tons of fun stuff to do in Vegas. Lot of people with kids but if you are planning really far ahead I could see where they could even make it part of a family vacation.

Ya'll are talking about a completely different style meet than what I have been to. Grilling out. Half a dozen people crashed out all over the place. Some drinking. (not everyone) LOTSA laughing. Staying up till the wee hours in the morning. Waking up looking like hell. Siping coffee and cooking breakfast for the herd,then doing the whole thing again. Out here, we keep it cheap. ....or maybe it's just me that's cheap. |

The OP seemed to be wanting to get people from all over to go to one place. So yes, that would be different than what you are used to going to.
It would be nice to have those kind of meetups, but most of us do not have a lot of people in one area to get together. So, I can understand the OP wanting to get people from all over the place together. I just think that it needs to be something a bit more reasonable in price than Hawaii. Maybe she'll start planning soon? |

Hope it all works out for such a meet but it will be a hard one to pull off....
You may get a hand full that is able to do so. But.....it is worth a try if you are able to do so... As Krupa said here in Texas we have had several meets so far and have had a blast. Yeah we do go the cheaper way we try to meet at someone's house do a sleep over with bodies everwhere. Great food and those that want to drink can. Everyone brings dishes and what they want to drink. We all kick back eat, drink and lots of great conversation.... In the past they did have some that was trying to get a bigger get together they did have some show up not sure how many.. But heard they had a blast. At one time someone was trying to get a cruise together not sure if it happened or not..

With the economy today U may get a few to go to Hawaii but not too many, Vegas is the cheapest route! I went to Virginia 2 years ago and met several (now ex) Minglers and had a Blast!! I prefer something like Krupa and Kristi do in Texas, BBQ beer and a very informal setting where it dont cost alot and the laughs are many!!!
