How would you tolerate or accept flogging at your 20's and above? Is it proper?

It depends upon the situation. I May actually prefer it to imprisonment for many offenses.

Flogging is punishment! Those who support or joke about it need medication or councelling!

My comment comes from reading and veiwing punishment of exstreme punishment by law.... The public stoning to death of a woman in the middle east comes to mind... Where and when does it stop....

In my mind, flogging isn't used as a deterrent. It’s not a means of ‘correcting’ behavior. I just think it’s barbaric. Although I’m not always a champion of imprisonment, I prefer it to corporal punishment.

I am against cruelty to people and animals.

I don't know; thinking of a few of these criminals deserve a good flogging. The jail system is nothing more than a joke these days.

I am thinking he may be referring to getting a disciplinary whipping. At 20....you always got the option of leaving.

The last time I got whipped was at 15. My brother got his last whipping at 16...Dad told him to take out the garbage. My brother said "No" Dad told him to go get the belt. My brother said "I am too old for you to whip me"........he was wrong.

Singapore has an extremely low crime rate...

the violent people would tend to disagree...flogging or beating is not the answer, quicker and more death sentences would be better...

some people deserve to get smacked around a bit,

I prefer swift and quick non lethal deterrents to prolonged exercises in criminal practice (jail) or death (death penalty) or jolts of electricity (tasers) or potentially life threatening choke holds,,,

Im not sure the details of what instruments are used, but I wouldnt be opposed to having some swift WHACKS on the behind as a detterent. IT worked for me as a child and left no harm and didnt make me violent. Deterrents and punishments just need to be consistent to work,, where they go wrong is when they are not consistent. When the 'rules' are not clearly explained or understood, or when a certain consequence is understood to follow a behavior but then doesnt for certain people or for certain occassions.


YEah, the butt has extra padding, noone is gonna die from having it made a bit sore as a reminder of unacceptable behavior.

what about when police have to detain unwilling criminals,,,?

I dont think that is usually a peaceful 'discussion', but can get violent as well
