Here's what I see as the difference. And I can only speak for myself. I'm not speaking for women in general.

Men can satisfy their need for sex with any woman.

I need sex too. But I do not find it satisfying outside of an emotionally satisfying relationship.

That's just bogus... biased opinion.
Men are men, women are women.
Both are the same breed, Human.

I am not saying that men don't need or want a loving relationship. I'm just saying they don't need that relationship to enjoy sex.

That isn't a gender related thing. That's a personal thing. Some men need a loving relationship for sex to be fulfilling just as some women do. Some women don't need that type of relationship to enjoy sex, just as some men don't need it.

Nobody needs realationship to enjoy sex.
Sex for the sake of hot, sweaty fun is simply that... it is what it is.
But you seem to imply that men go for that more than women... I disagree.
I happen to think that women have enjoyed a sense of "shadow".... up until present times.
Today, with an anything goes mentality... that thinking is obsolete and simply feeds of of modern, traditional thinking. You of all people, Ruth, know better. It has been this way for years, in truth. Perhaps centuries. Truth needs to be free to have it's affect no matter what it brings about.
Bringing it up now, in this discussion, is bogus...

thats what i was going to say...if im not sleeping with you, there is a Damn good reason and it has Nothing to do with Your needs i can assure you. It seems to me that men/women will cheat if the need arises and No amount of availabilty will change that. Loving someone means just that. putting another body into the mix just makes you single, :).....i do agree that men dont hold the market on cheating or anything else tho....women can hold their own in the ''Dink'' department so.....the battle continues, :)

I think the old feelings that women don't need sex and or enjoy it as much as men tends to come through while these men are having sex.
If she is only doing her wifely duties then he really hasn't much reason to put much energy or creativity into it.
If he's a selfish lousy lay because he doesn't believe she needs it like him....she will move on.
I'll bet a dollar the men who really believe sex is not as wanted or as needed by women as much as him.....goes through a lot of relationships.

The guys who are lazy or selfish during sex aren't going to be able to keep women around. If the sex is good for both people, a contract won't have to be written up so the man gets sex at least twice a week.

That is just not true.

Nobody? At all? In the whole world?

I was chatting to my brother earlier today about something totally unrelated and we started talking about relationships and a man and woman's differing perspectives about how the other views fidelity. My brother's comments reminded me about these statements a man had written in response to an article that I saw in the newspaper this morning. What are your thoughts?

There's not a man I know who wouldn't have sex outside his marriage if he thought he could get away with it.

Men and women are completely different animals when it comes to sex. Women see sex and love as very closely related. Men, however, can love one woman while having red-hot sizzling sex with another.

When it comes to sex, women tend to want fidelity while men tend to want variety.

I'm sorry to have gotten side-tracked on other issues... of course they all have their importance too. But I wanted to ask you about:
"There's not a man I know who wouldn't have sex outside his marriage if he thought he could get away with it."
Is that really true... to your life?
I'd be heart broken if it were true.
Are all the men around you this way?
Perhaps I'm correct in feeling so foriegn to average peeps... maybe I should change to be the way your neighbors are...?

I apologize and will not do that again. flowerforyou

I still think if a hot chick showed up on your doorstep right now and wanted to have sex and leave, you'd do it. But, maybe not.

Just for the record, I don't think it's a bad thing that men are like that and I'm not suggesting that either way is better. I, personally, really like the differences between men and women. love

Edit: I mean assuming you were single you would have sex with her. I'm not suggesting you would cheat if you had a girlfriend.

Okay Ruthie... you win: I yield to semantics.
As little as you know me... you should have known that NO lady (or cats) gets her way with me without a real relationship first... perhaps I've assumed too much.
But seriously. Please forgive my intrusion into you topics... I'll not do it again.

Having sex and enjoying it or different.
I enjoy it far far better when there is the emotional attachment.

If that scenario played out, right now, today;
I'd say no.
I devoted myself to someone.

I'd hit it, yes, if I were single.
However, I would no where near enjoy it as much as if it was with someone I actually cared about..

Ted, you are obviously angry at me for things not related to this thread. So, why don't we just agree to let each other alone? flowerforyou

That's pretty weak.
While true... it has little to do with the topic at hand.
And seems cowardly.
But as I said in my last comment... I'll leave ya alone.
Done ad done.

I can only speak for myself here but if a woman came to my door just wanting sex and no strings attached, I wouldn't do it. I may get kicked out of Mantown for making such a statement...but it's true.

I hope that wouldn't get you kicked out of Mantown. You have every right to how you feel, as does everyone. I'm sure you would not be the only man to say no thanks.

It is a choice made that involves your morals, upbringing and perhaps expierience. A man does not have to have sex with a woman just because that is "expected" from a man. These same choices apply to women.
