Oh, stop pretending it's a gender-specific issue. Lol... People lie because they have an agenda - resume lies are no better and no worse than lying to a person you just met about your potentially incriminating or stigmatizing sexual history. Everyone lies, it's a human issue. Plus, we all find ways of justifying our lies - do the ends justify the means? Depends on what you're after.

We lie for the same reason women lie. To get the outcome we want the easiest way possible. The motive behind it can be any of our basic emotions; anger, fear, lust, ect.

Ask yourself "Why would I lie to get in someone's pants?". It's usually a simple answer, "It's the easiest way to get what I want".
