Low carb food is more filling and more nutritious than high-carb food, but low carb food gets a bad wrap. I know that there are other low-carb people who mingle, so I started this thread so we can show how well we eat.

Dinner tonight: Marinated beef cooked in olive oil, with green beans, feta cheese and tomato wedges.

Looks yummy, Ruth.

Beef, avocado and tomatoes are all nutrient dense foods and the whole thing was probably 4-5 net carbs with the same amount or more of fiber. Nutrient dense, low carb and delicious.

Dark chocolate is low carb and packed with nutrition, it's absolutely allowed in the low carb diet. I still eat McDonald's sometimes, I just skip the fries and hold the bun. Ice Cream can be a rare treat, but the low nutritional value and high amount of sugar makes it undesirable. If I want a desert, I have dark chocolate dipped in natural Almond butter or Peanut butter.

Where do you buy this?

And I am feeling a wee bad about
all your meals in that styrofoam bowl :-)

Costco, it's made by Coleman's. It's also gluten free. It doesn't last long in the fridge, so I break it down into four slice units, wrap it in aluminum foil and freeze it.

I am a bachelor and I'm a tad bit lazy. I don't own any real plates or silverware, everything is plastic. Again, bought at Costco.

I should start buying the nitrate free bacon too.

I have been eating 80% low carb for about 2 weeks now. I have cheated some days but I've still lost 5 pounds without once feeling hungry. In fact my appetite is way down and I feel fuller much longer. Plus I'm eating a lot more veggies. With butter.

hahaha I LIVE on paper plates :-)

So, you just foil it, you don't
plastic bag it, for some reason?

Gee spidey, I hope you meet someone
with silverware and plates :-)

I put all of the wrapped bacon into a large zip lock bag.

I already have, but don't let her know that I'm using her for flatware.

Eating a low carb diet is really bad for you. It's hard to believe there are fools that actually think it's good.

You actually think this is good for you? No wonder people need healthcare?

The body sees everything as simple glucose.
It does not know one food from another.
The secret to protein is, it takes longer
to break down into glucose.
Keeping you fuller, longer.

A little hint..
If you need to cheat (and mosty people simply
cannot eat all protein and may crave carbs)
DO NOT GO BACK to more protein the rest of
the day.
Cheat late.
The reason is, generally speaking, protein
is higher in calories than carbs.
But you are eating less to compensate.
When you add the cheat carbs back in, the
protein cycle is broken, and you would
merely be adding back higher calories.
So get it out of your system, start fresh
the next day.
