I don't hate the new Testament. They're still shredding away, doing their own thing and not putting out
bad to really bad like Metallica and Megadeth. That being said, it certainly isn't their best work. It's not s good as some of their other stuff

Have you REALLY listened to Metallica's Death Magnetic album?? It's their best since Justice or the Black Album. They really stepped it up and from all the live stuff I've heard and the 2 blu-ray concerts from last year, they sound perfect.

Megadeth on the other hand...Endgame I thought was a brilliant album, but I don't really like their new album. It bored me except for 2 songs.

Have you REALLY listened to Metallica's Death Magnetic album??

Yes. It is better than their previous few albums, then again, virtually everything is. It is not a bad album, just nothing outstanding to me in any form. And I find the Black Album almost their worst album because how goddamn overplayed, overhyped and overtalked about it is. I remember loving it when I first heard it, and now I just want to cry when people bring it up.

Mustaine is on a personal mission to make himself the most ridiculed individual in music I think. I feel about his latest albums the way I do about Metallica's. It has become less about the music, and more about the personality disorder putting it out. Not bad stuff, but still rubs me the wrong way.

I am really enjoying the new Deathspell Omega and the latest grave releases.

Currently listening to Saxon - To Hell And Back Again

And pretty much every song off their Strong Arm of the Law album.

Well, might be biased since Metallica is my favorite band of all time, but I didn't mind when they toned it down some on Load. I felt Load was a good album.

Mustaine is one hell of a guitar player, you can't deny that. Dude has some of the sickest riffs I've ever heard, along with Hetfield. Those two are riff masters. I also think, lyric wise, they are good. I think Hetfield takes the edge though, cause listen to Master of Puppets...just a masterpiece musically and lyrically.

If it was all less about the music, then Metallica could've cared less about putting out Death Magnetic and written like they did. It's a brilliant album, they haven't wrote stuff like that in years. And the Black Album, overhyped? I don't think so, it's STILL selling like crazy after all these years, just like the other albums.

I listen to all genre's of metal, but personally black metal..play as fast as you want, but the fact of the matter is the drummers nowadays (most of them) use triggers on the drum pedals and the guitar players just play a few chords fast, if you can play guitar well (I've played for 17 years) you can riff fast all you want. I could write, musically with a guitar, a black metal song in 5 minutes, doesn't take much. Black album may be overplayed, but hey, guess that happens when you had such a brilliant album and the whole album is damn good, no matter what anyway says. There's a reason Metallica is in the rock n roll hall of fame...and there's a reason they are #2 all-time on the most sold records list, only behind Michael Jackson, they past The Beatles 2 years ago..

Metallica sells their stuff by name alone these days. Every metal fan I know, both on and offline loathes their last few releases.... Death Magnetic is considered ho-hum by most, better than St. Anger and the Load/Reload swill but still nowhere near their original output. They put out some amazing thrash albums back in the day and virtually everyone agrees to that... but as long as they are putting out crap like Loutallica, they can find a nice bridge somewhere and dive off it in my humble opinion. Yes, the Black Album is overplayed and overhyped... the only songs you EVER hear anywhere (at least here, I can't speak for anyone else mind you) is Unforgiven, Enter Sandman, Nothing Else Matters, etc.. as well as stuff now off Death Magnetic sprinkled throughout. Where are all their old classics... the music that put them on the map? The songs that built there fan base... that made the Black Album possible in a manner of speaking? It is like they don't exist. Which is comical... because currently Metallica now is referred to as a Hard Rock band (and sometimes a pop rock band depending on where you go), and playing any of their old classic stuff gets a lot of befuddled looks from people. I have run across a lot of people who truly do not think it is the same band. They just can't imagine these guys as once being a major force in the thrash world, which now only exist in it through their back catalog, and in some brief moments during their live shows. It is almost embarrassing to listen to people talk about how bands like Korn and Trivium rock out harder than anything Metallica has ever done, all because many don't even realize they have a great back catalog.

Unlike many, I do NOT feel they sold out, or betrayed anybody. I respect the choices they made in regards to their music, and where they are taking it. But it is a journey I respectfully have no interest in sharing with them unless/until they bring back some semblance of the band they used to be, and not the group trying to be as Rock Band compatible as they can possibly be. Yeah, they were inducted into the hall of fame in 2009, so was Run-D.M.C. to my everlasting disgust, what is your point? No one actually pays much attention to the hall of fame anymore, nor will they until the actual fans of the music are allowed to have a say on who deserves to be elected and who gets in.

OK, you puzzled me here, what information are you using for sales figures? The top three greatest albums of ALL time sold are Thriller, Back in Black, and Dark Side Of The Moon, and artists in rank still remain The Beatles, Elvis and Jackson in that order by 2012 sales figures.

And what is with the lame dig at black metal? I did not know anyone was even talking about it. But since you insist, OK go ahead and write one. I'll check back tomorrow for your new hit black metal song. It better wow me is all I can say and I am hard as hell to impress these days mind you.

Lee Press On and the Nails...."Jump Swing from Hell"

I love me some metal but, life is a buffet and I ain't here for a hamburger....I want some of everything.

I will do me some metal later....it will be Slayer, Forbidden, Metal Church, Flotsam and Jetsam, Crimson Glory or Znoe White.

Unless I am more in a punk mood..Dead Kennedys, Black Flag, Millions of Dead Cops, Rancid....

Though rockabilly punk is just as likely....Elvis Hitler or Southern Culture on the Skids or Nashville P#ssy.
