Would you date a man more then 7 years older then you, I ask this because recently a woman I had met felt I was too old for her, even though there was only an 8yr gap in our ages, she didn't realize my age at the time we met, most people think I am about 7 or 8 years younger then I look.
I have just recently came out of a relationship where I was 12yrs older then my former girlfriend, what difference does age really make if you have a lot in common with each other, I have also dated woman older then myself, so it's not one sided with me, when I was only 29 I dated a fantastic woman of 39, we had a really great time together.

doesn't seem like a lot to me miko but I'm pretty old...hearing everything from nasty to young lurvers who love cougars )...eh? let her go - it's just a matter of preferences & a big wide world out there

better to be with someone who it's not an issue with - or whose opinion is close to your own

I agree. Let her go. Preference all the way. My parents are 20 years apart and were the happiest couple I remember. "Were because my daddy died already".
Good luck to you though.

Age does play somewhat of a factor, but not always. I am pretty settled for my age i do believe, and i find older women a little more attractive because they already know what they want, and for the most part, are settled more so then women a little younger. Just my two cents

I run into some men my age (or just a year or 2 older) who seem like my "dad" at times. (And very "old-school.") Yet we're the same age or very close in age...My husband was 6 (plus) years older than me but we seemed on the same "par." Maybe this is because we both liked to keep up with the "times" to a certain degree. (Versus remaining totally "frozen" in the past.)...Anyway I think we're all different. Age can be a big factor or maybe not.

That true. I wish to find a woman who is ten years older than I, but at the same time I would be ten years older than she.

That way we would be even, and nobody would have a reason to be grumpier than the other. Similar levels of energy, albeit on alternate Tuesdays.

I recommend this to the OP, who also seems to be my age.

I think once you turn 18 it shouldn't atter age difference!! I am 19 and have talked to guys like 12-14 years older than me...just due to the fact that the way I was raised I am very matur for my age so I am attracted to older men because they are about the same maturity level as me. Idon't think 7-8 year age difference is bad. But everyone has their own opinion...so I would forgether because there are plenty of ladies that arent bothered by age difference :)

I don't think it's that important as how well the two of you relate to each other.. Both my husbands were older than me (7yrs and 11yrs)and first marriage was 17 yrs (divorced) and then 26 yrs (husband passed away) Both were good marriages but first husbands job always came first and I got tired of that... date and see how it works for you...

I think you have touched on something key to compatability - I don't care if people want to stay "frozen in the past"

it's their choice. But I don't think I could be involved w/ someone like that in a romantic relationship

possibly I have too many exes (kidding) - the only serious relationships I have had were with men my own age tho I have dated younger. We get along well as friends - it's not that I do not want to go on living (now that I am older) - that's not it - I have never been accused of that, but I do think a person's interests change as they age - bar hopping and such no longer interests me.

It is hard to imagine being with someone 20 years older, I agree.

It's more a matter of compatibility than age difference. If you two are compatible, why should it matter if you're 100 years apart by age or the same age?

The last lady I was privileged to date was 25 years my junior. We got along well because I am open to "new" experiences and fun I guess. She married a guy 30 years her senior (I am not in a position to marry right now).

EDIT: So whatever floats your boat.
