Topic: If you die in your dream, you die in real life?

Does anybody believe this? I once had a dream I was pushed into a body of water by an acquaintance for no reason. I held his arms and took him down with me! Being underwater results in a completely different circumstance than nay other situation as you can't breathe. We were struggling underwater and I could not understand why he would not let me go! Did he want to die too?! I suppose I was beginning to slip away when I awoke to a nurse coming into my room at the hospital. I have also had a dream or two where I've been shot but didn't feel any pain and didn't really die.

there can be two reasons for this to happen to you
1.the dreams that you have may have been caused due to some incident that occured in your life which you cant get over it and are having illusions in your dreams
2.the dreams that you see i am not sure about this but they maybe related to your previous life which are trying to warn you or show you a path.

this is what i feel can be the two reasons because it happens to me a lot of times too and when i wake up from these dreams i cant think clearly at least for an hour or more whether it was a dream because everything seems so lifelike in dreams

People die "in their sleep" all the time...
perhaps they have created their death via the dream.

people are as good as dead while they sleep as they are unaware of things happening around them while they sleep

If the way you die in a dream is the way you really die...then my life is going to end in an epic battle against Satan for my dad's soul... o.O

I have died in my dreams several times in many different ways...seeing the aftermath of people close to me or roaming lost as a spirit or simply just going black or waking up. The subconscious mind speaks in symbols often relating to our waking lives as it works to resolve problems or whatnot. Have you ever had questions unanswered that bugged you or situations u didnt know how to handle or react to and then wake up with that knowledge? The mind is ever active beyond our conscious or even subconscious mind delving deeper then we know. I have actually become a bit of an insomniac lately unless i drink myself into a coma lol. Nightmares have been plagueing me night after night, that including dieing by drowning. Go figure.

so yes i think the sub conscious mind if can not be can controlled can cause itself to shut down, and that i would presume a result of many deaths, and that should down could be very well within a dream, most likely then if so

Shiashu...it doesn't take a battle to win over a persons soul...whether they are alive or already passed on. Positive, clear thoughts and prayer will take people out of their hell. Hell is just a place where they are stuck in their present life.

You are definately on the right track accoustalme. Our dreams work with our energy/spiritual self to resolve issues that surround us at the present time or even issues that have not come up yet. Our energy is far reaching and those crazy dreams may be resolving issues before they even arrive.

Well many people go back and forth on that ...I have never died in a dream. I have however killed innocent people in my dream. And I don't mean for real... I mean they died in my dream.

Dreams are truly puzzling Mine have been all over the place but I think they express your deepest fears. My worest ones have been me having to save my pets life alas my greatest fear.

Yes and no.

Dreams are your bodies way of cleaning out your thoughts from the day. If you had fears of your pet dying and or thoughts of it, not even deep thoughts of it, possibly even subconscious thoughts. Your dreams clean those thoughts out of your mind that you had.

Your dreams clean out not just the thoughts specifically of the day, but the one's that had the biggest impact, usually in a negative way.

That's why for instance sometimes if a child watches a scary movie before bed, they will have nightmares.

Wet dreams and so forth. They come from the thoughts and or instances of the day.

And this is not secluded to "fears" either. This could include wants and desires as well. I noticed someone say it's always raining in their dreams, this could mean something to them subconsiousley, as in they want rain, they are tired of the rain, ect.

I never dreamed that I died but I have had dreams where someone close to me died.. Within 6 months of each of those dreams I lost my grandfather and then my dad.. That really scared me..
When I was younger I used to dream that I could levitate and fly above the trees...wonder if that had anything to do with the fact that I love to parasail and hangglide?

I don't know. I'm a very hard person to convince. If I end up dying in my sleep, to me it will be from a natural cause.

Levitation is a totally different story.

Yes, possibly. Why do you like hang gliding? No ground beneath your feet, the wind in your hair, ect? The same sensations you would have if you were flying/levitate.
