Science, math, computer language, philosophy, anything at all...Teach me something, preferably with free resources that I can read and learn from. I wish to extend my vast knowledge even further, do you have a trade? Something that you trained yourself years to do?

Teach me, I wish to learn...I am a canvas, here are your paints, have your way with them.

DUDE!

You left yourself open to this...

I know pain and suffering. I know how to inflict them. Are you inviting me to be the Marquis D'Sade? Are you REALLY willing to be strapped on the wheel?

noway

I don't want to believe that is true!

Animal Training 101.

1. Have a clear, simple thing that you want to teach the animal. Make sure it is something they can actually do.
2. Break the goal down into individual steps if necessary (and it usually is).
3. Use a clear, simple command and always exactly the same. Teach your dog to sit with the word Sit, not sometimes Sit, sometimes Siddown, and sometimes Hey! And not Sit, Sit, SIT DAMMIT.
4. Be prepared to position them physically if necessary.
5. Be patient but persistent. NEVER lose your temper.
6. Set up the animal for success by training in a quiet area without distractions.
7. Praise liberally when the animal achieves success. The animal should be looking at you happily. If praise isn't getting you that result, use treats or a short bit of playtime.
8. Keep sessions under 15 minutes and no more than once a day.
9. Create the atmosphere of a game or partnership in training, not submissive drudgery.

There you go. You asked for it. Some resources:

I fix and network computers for a living and have been doing so for a decade. I'd be glad to bestow some of my knowledge if you're interested. I'd need to know your if this is something you want to learn and how tech savvy you already are and maybe I can direct you to some worthwhile sites to learn a bit of what I do

That animal training bit will come in handy, I know a girl who is trying to train her dog.

I'm actually in school for networking computers, I have prior experience doing mainly A+ stuff for about a year or two. I'd definitely like to learn a thing or two in this area, it will help job options in a year.

How To Make You're Own Phantasm Sphere:

We'll start off with a list of the items needed.

(1) Chromed Ornament

(2) pieces of "friendly plastic"

(1) Xacto knife, or other cutting impliment

(1) Something to heat your knife so that it's red hot

(1) can of silver (or gold, depending on what project you are doing) chrome spray enamel

(1) large silver wood screw (about 3/4" long)

(1) Scribe or large nail

(1) A medium size sewing needle

(1) Pair of wire cutters

(1) Pair of pliers

(1) Tube of Testor's or equivalent model glue

Step 1:

First you will need to get ahold of the Christmas ornament. These are a silver color and the two halves of the sphere snap together. They generally look like the following image. Ignore the two slits, these are made later in the project. If you plan on making the golden "Tall Man" sphere, please look for a golden one, or pick up a can of gold chrome paint. Please, don't huff. Just take the pliers and cut off the hanging nubs that are on the ornament. This will give you a smooth surface all over once it's closed.

Step 2:

Now take one half, chrome side facing you, and make two small line around 2 inches apart, and no longer that the base of your blades will be, not the flair on them, but the small stem of the blades. Heat your knife until it is red hot and start cutting this opening, being careful not to make it too large as it will leave you with droopy blades. You will have to reheat your blade a few times. Also you may have to make a few touch-ups with your paint and a brush. Now choose an area that is inbetween the slits, but a bit below. This is where your silver screw will go. You can heat the screw itself and use it, holding it with the pliers as not to burn your hand, to drill it's own hole. As always, do not make the hole too large.

Step 3:

Lets make the blades now. Get your friendly plastic. These are plastic strips that when heated can be molded around. Just take your strips and your nail and draw something similar to the pattern to the right. Be creative. You will need two of these for the silver balls, but three for a golden one. Make the back stem longer than what you think you need to make it because it needs to reach the other side of the sphere so that it can be attached to hold the blades firmly. Cut these out carefully and then chrome them totally. Set aside and let them dry for a while.

Step 4:

Now, you are ready for final assembly. Position your blades in through the slits in your sphere, allowing about 1/8" to come inside. Seal with model glue the area around the stem (inside the sphere only, no glue outside) of both blades, making sure they are protruding evenly with one another. Now position your silver wood screw, pushing it out through its own hole, all the way to the screw head. Seal the edge of the screw head (if needed) with glue, although this is not always needed, if the fit is snug enough through the hole. Let this half of the sphere sit overnight, for the glue to dry. The next day, gently snap the two halves together, and you have your own Phantasm Silver Sentinel replica!

From the poet Richard Brautigan:

"Karma Repair Kit: Items 1-4"
1. Get enough food to eat,
and eat it.

2. Find a place to sleep where it is quiet,
and sleep there.

3. Reduce intellectual activity and emotional noise
until you arrive at the silence of yourself,
and listen to it.

4.

I found a guy on YouTube who teaches about all kinds of computer subjects. Here's one of his videos which is basically an overview of TCP/IP which I though was a good start for someone starting with networking. You've probably already learned what's in the video since you're in school for it, but he has a lot of other videos that may be of interest
